You body slammed into the floor below, knocking the wind out of you. Horrible retching sounds erupted from your throat as you desperately tried to breath. Your lungs refused to work, and the burning in your chest was excruciating. You screamed at your body to move, but it just wouldn't. As you waned in and out of consciousness, you heard someone screaming your name.
"[Y/n]! Wake...."
"My god...not breathing..."
Something warm was pressed against your face followed by hot air forced down your throat. You coughed violently, your eyes shooting open. Everything was blurry, but eventually cleared to reveal your classmate Kensuke, sitting over you with the biggest look of relief. His eyes sparkled along with his smile as he announced that you were back.
You tried to lean up, but your muscles quickly gave out. Kensuke's hand quickly braced your fall. "Don't move, you're badly injured"
"Wh-Who else is there?" you croak out from your parched mouth.
"It's Kizami," Kensuke answered, while looking towards him. You followed his gaze to see Yuuya approaching, a mixture of worry and relief on his face.
He squatted down to be eye level with you. "Glad to have you back, how are you feeling?"
"Oh hi," you answered.
The two boys looked at each other with confused expressions. "I guess you're not fully back," Kensuke laughed. "It's alright though, do you think you can stand? I'm not sure if I can carry-"
"I'll carry her,"
Before you knew what was happening, Kizami was holding you bridal style. You stared at him, mouth agape in shock. You were so close to him, you could feel the warmth of his skin and the steady pulse of his heart. It was oddly calm and the opposite of yours. You had never been held so intimately before, at least not since you were a baby. It made you very self conscious and if the hall were any brighter, they'd both see your blush.
"We passed by an infirmary a little ways back," Kensuke said "We can take you there to rest,"
You really wanted to go to sleep in Kizami's arms but every time you tried, Kensuke would shake you awake. He kept saying you could only sleep in the infirmary, so when you finally arrived, you were more than happy. However as soon as you entered the room, you instantly wanted to leave. You had a really bad vibe about the place.
You clung to Kizami's arm as he attempted to place you down on a cot. "Please don't leave me here. It's not safe"
"It's the only place that has a bed," Kizami replied, seemingly annoyed that you wouldn't let him go. You didn't understand his reaction, could he not sense what you could? Up until this moment you never believed in good and evil, but by god did this room feel evil. Or at least something evil resided here.
"How about I stay with you, yeah?" Kensuke suggested "There's two beds here after all,"
You didn't like that option, but it seemed like you had no other choice. You doubted you could leave on your own, so the next best thing was not being alone. So, you reluctantly you let go of your classmate's arm.
"I'm going to keep searching for our friends," Kizami announced as Kensuke climbed over you to the adjacent cot. Despite the odor of mildew and the slightly damp sheets, Kensuke seemed perfectly content with his resting place.
"Don't fall asleep," You warned as his eyelids grew heavy. He mumbled something akin to 'I won't' but was out a second later. Despite your will to stay awake, you found yourself following shortly after.
You woke up with a start, sweating profusely and feeling sick to your stomach. You scanned the room only to find yourself alone. You heard voices in the hallways, and immediately jumped out of bed. That wasn't the best idea as you quickly fell to the floor. In addition to your previously injured knee, the other one was now completely swollen and locked in place.
A feeling of hopelessness swirled around you like a malevolent shadow. You were helpless, you were useless but most of all, you were burden. The boys were nice enough to help you before, but you couldn't expect Kizami to carry you everywhere. If there was any chance of getting out of here, it was without you. But you knew they wouldn't leave you behind, at least Kensuke wouldn't. He was too good of a guy to do that. So there was really only one way you could save them.
Your eyes flickered around the room until you saw the screw sticking out of the side of the cot. Pinching your fingers around the edge, you spun it until it landed on the floor with a 'plink'. The dark shadow, now in the shape of a person, grinned in satisfaction as you turned the rusted tip against your neck, painfully tugging your hair with each twist. Just when you felt the satisfying tear of flesh, a blood curdling scream rang down the hall.
The sound snapped you out of your trance and you quickly pulled yourself into the hallway. You were relieved to see both boys a little ways away. Kensuke seemed really upset so you figured he was the one who cried out earlier.
Suddenly Kizami rushed towards Kensuke and punched him in the stomach. You watched in horror as he slid back from the impact, hunching over himself. A strange garbled noise came from him before he lifted his head. It was then you noticed the glint of metal protruding from his abdomen. Grabbing the handle, Kizami yanked the blade out, blood gushing from the newly created hole in Kensuke's side.
Kensuke looked up at his friend, betrayal and confusion in his eyes. "Kizami...what...why?" He let out another anguished cry, blood now welling in the corners of his mouth. He coughed violently, painting the floor red.
Kizami towered over his friend, completely emotionless. Then with one swift kick, he pushed Kensuke onto some broken floorboards. With a loud crack, the wood gave way taking your friend along with it. Your screams mixed with his before ending with a thud from the floor below.
"Within these walls, it doesn't matter if you're killed by them or killed by me," Kizami said as he slowly turned around. He wore a deranged smile on while splatters of Kensuke's blood dribbled down his cheek.
"Either way, you're dead"

Sorry it's so short, but I really wanted to get something out before I went to bed. Plus this just seems like a good place to stop. Also, sorry I made the hunk a psychopath...well it wasn't exactly me per say. That's just how he is in the franchise.
