You lost Alex as soon as you got into the training center. Being among the tributes was incredibly intimidating. Some looked strong and terrifying while others were small and weak. You kept your eye on the Kamado siblings, not wanting to interact with either if you could avoid it.
You decided to head to the fishing center, because you knew nothing about the sport, seeing as you come from the lumber district.
"You should try to learn a hook at least." One tribute stated to another.
"Look, if I want a fish I can just electrocute the water with my fingers. I have cool powers, remember?!" The other snapped back. The girl face palmed.
"Denki... You just announced your secret to any tribute in earshot." She mumbled.
"What? Only the District seven kid is here!" The boy gestured to you. You remembered these two, they were from five.
"Hi...?" Was your only response.
"Denki you have the head of a brainless rat!" The girl tribute rolled her eyes.
"Toph," the boy sighed, "stop acting like your above me. I'm the one who's supposed to protect you!"
"I don't need protection!" The girl snapped and stormed off.
"You're blind! Of course you do! Toph? Toph!" He chased after her and just like that, you were alone.
You sat at the fishing station and stared at the random items you guessed could be used to make hooks. And you were more confused than ever. After a few minutes of reading a manual, and a few attempts at constructing a fishing hook out of pine needles, you gave up. Fishing just wasn't a skill you had.
"Need some help?" A woman's voice rang behind you. You looked over your shoulder defensively, and saw the woman from eight. Her hair was black and white with cruel dark eyes.
"N-no thanks, I'm good." You said and moved away from the station.
"That's just Cruela." A child's voice followed you. Suddenly the boy from the same district as the black and white haired woman bobbled into view. "She's kinda mean." He stated quietly, finishing up constructing a fishing hook in his hands.
"Oh..." You felt uncomfortable.
"Here! I made this for you!" The boy, who was probably only twelve years old, handed you a feathered fishing hook.
"Its... it's beautiful." You said, admiring it in your hands. "How did you..." You looked around and found he was already gone.
"Any luck?" Alex jumped beside you as the day of training came to a close.
"With what?"
"Intel on the tributes!" Alex smiled.
"Oh, yeah! Um... The boy from five... he has electricity powers or something." You reported.
"Ah, not good. Well I have kinda good news but also bad news." Alex began. "I spied on the Kamado siblings."
"You did WHAT?!"
"Relax! So I know for sure the girl has powers... not sure about her brother though. Well uh..."
"What are they?!"
"She can shrink and grow in size."
"Not that bad then, how is that bad news?"
"And she can also make her blood explode."
"... what the-"
They explained it to you as you made it back to your corridors. You both told Azon and Felix the same thing you'd just told each other and they both seemed a bit more anxious. The Kamado sister was not one to cross paths with. What was creepiest about her was that she would never speak. Her brother would say everything for her, meanwhile she was a mute, but not an avox. Just like Azon.
