Shivya was excited to go back to work after three days. She went to office earlier than she is supposed to go. She was very excited to meet him.  Humming she went to the cabin and sat and started sorting out files.  She took a peak at Maaran’s cabin to see if he came. She saw the time and Maaran’s usual office time was far.  She remembered yesterday’s happenings and smiled and blushed as she remembered their ‘almost’ hug. To keep his thoughts away she started to do her work.

Already an hour and half passed ,she looked at his cabin and still he wasn’t there. She thought to wait for a while. She was immersed in her work in order to distract her mind  and after a while saw the time it was almost lunch time.  Still he hadn’t come. She got worried and immediately called him. The call went unanswered. She kept trying again and again but all went in vain. She decided to ask Rishi.

She without knocking the doors just opened the cabin door and worriedly shouted “Thangam.” Rishi held his chest at the sudden voice. Shivya without caring about his state questioned him. “Thangam enga avaru.Yen innum varala. Ivalo late ah vara aal illaya,” she kept asking while Rishi found it difficult to answer. At the same time he smiled at her care towards Maaran. He knew it was genuine and thanked god for bringing her into Maaran’s life. “Ada iru ma.Yappa evalo kelvi. Modala yaaru avara,” he asked teasingly.  Shivya usually enjoys teasings with him but today she was worried. She stopped and looked at him expecting an answer. Rishi seeing her serious face composed himself and said “Ma avan vara matan iniki.” Shivya’s face fell knowing that he won’t be coming but it turned into a worry again with concern filled eyes as Rishi continued “avanukku fever ma.” Shivya immediately asked “ Yenna?Eppadi? Netha enkooda  nalla thaaney irunthaar.” Rishi asked her “Netha?”“Ennaya veliya kootita ponara.” Rishi was surprised to know this. He hasn’t really gone out unless it was business. When she said this he became happy that finally he is 'living'. “Anney eppadi fever?” she questioned wanting to know what happened. “Netha ice-cream saaptaan nu sonnaan.Athunaala ya thaan irukkum. Plus he got drenched in the rain yesterday.” Shivya remembered forcing him to get ice-cream and yesterday night after he left, it started raining. She felt bad. She started to think it was her fault. She wanted to meet him.

“Thangam,” she hesitated. Rishi nodded his head to go ahead. “Naan avara paakanum.Ennaya kootita ponga.” Rishi was happy but he also hesitated because Maaran has never let anyone inside his home. He cannot really predict his mood changes. He wanted to change Shivya’s mind but looking at her pleading eyes and she said” Naan ella important workkum mudhichitean”.

“Nee keela entrance’la waitpanna naan car ah eduthuta varean.”  Shivya thanked him and went to her cabin and rushed down. She got into the car and told “Anney pharmacy and supermarket’la nippaatanga.” Rishi nodded his head and drove.

Shivya carried the bags from the car. “Thangam bell ring panna, avan varuvaan.” Shivya asked him “anney neenga varaleiya.” Rishi remembered that Maaran told him to look after the office so he explained that the Shivya. She understood and bid him bye. She turned and saw  mansion.

It was massive and beautiful. There were many plants twirled around the pillars at the entrance of the door. There were many plants but the only thing was that all were dried. Shivya went forward and rang the bell.

Maaran came home last night drenched in rain. After taking a bath he started sneezing. He thought it won’t be serious so did not bother and dozed off with a smile remembering the day. In the middle of the night he started feeling cold. He switched off the air conditioner and snuggled more into the blanket.

When morning dawned , he couldn’t get up. It was like he had a huge wait on top of him. His body ached. He felt tired. His phone started ringing and answered. “Dei machan office varala?” Rishi questioned. Maaran without opening his eyes, tiredly spoke “Machan ennaka fever na nenikiran.” Rishi panicked, “Dei ennada. Iru naan varean."
