"And done!" Alaia exclaimed, sending out the advertisements as the glow from the screen illuminated her smile. "Hope to see you soon roomie" she whispered to herself.
~
"Fuck" she cursed as Morgan pushed around the empty bottles, rummaging through her wine cabinet. Hastily picking her motorbike's keys, she rushed out of her house to the nearest grocery store.
Allowing the cool air to rush past her, she walked into the grocery store, making a beeline to the alcohol aisle. Brushing her fingers across the bottles, she pulled out her favourite.
"Belvedere" she hummed in satisfaction before paying at the counter.
~
Pouring herself a drink, Morgan scanned her eyes across the multiple ads, none of them suitable for her. Groaning in frustration, she slumped back against her chair, seconds away from giving up.
A colourful pop-up in her peripheral drew her towards the screen again as she hovered her cursor over the site, before clicking on it.
"This will do I guess" she muttered, before calling the number indicated.
~
Grinning from ear to ear, Alaia swung open the door and exclaimed " You're finally here!"
Widening her eyes at Alaia's outburst, Morgan mumbled, "I guess I am?"
"Well don't just stand there come on in!"
Morgan trudged behind her, luggage in suit.
~
"And this is your room" Alaia said backing away allowing Morgan to enter. Glancing around her simple yet elegant bedroom with tones of Scandinavian hidden in it, she set her suitcase down. Feeling apprehensive at her lack of enthusiasm, Alaia blurted out, "Did you not like it? We can switch rooms if you would li-"
"It's perfect." Morgan calmed gently, granting a warm smile.
Beautiful smile indeed Alaia wondered, grinning back at her smile.
Morgan's thoughts mirrored hers as she took in the gorgeous brunette in front of her.
"Well, I'll let you settle in, dinner's at eight"
Morgan hummed in response before shutting the door behind her.
~
Gulping at the wide array of food in front of her, Morgan looked up to meet Alaia's sparkling eyes.
"Are we having people over?" she asked.
"No of course not, I just didn't know what you liked so I prepared everything I knew" she replied with a soft giggle.
Nodding in response, Morgan took her seat across Alaia and the pair started eating.
~
Tired of the constant scraping of utensils, Alaia decided to intiate a conversation.
"So, did you like the food?"
Receiving a hum in response, she decided to try once more.
"Did you settle in well? Is the room alright?". Another hum.
"Over the call you mentioned you were a video game developer, what's that like? Must be pretty exciting".
"Hmm"
Sighing at her failed attempts, Alaia stood up to clear the dishes before she was stopped by Morgan.
"I'll do the dishes tonight, thanks for the dinner"
Smiling in return, she dumped her dishes in the sink, allowing herself one final glance at Morgan before retiring to her bedroom.
