"What do you mean, 'It was nothing'. I was pretty sure that what I saw was you cheating on me with one of those models you are always taking pictures of" I said angrily into the phone.

I rolled my eyes and rubbed my temple.

"I know that's your job, Dean." I said and widened my eyes at his reply. "No, I wouldn't go cheat on you after I thought you loved me! That's what you decided to do to me. Never contact me again, we are done."

I hung up and slammed the phone on the table with frustration.

My boyfriend of only two months cheated on me with the model he started photographing three weeks ago. He was a "famous photographer", but I assume the women only went to him for a good time.

I reached for the mail on the kitchen counter and filled through it. Old adds from stores and opened bills were in my hand as I walked to the garbage.

I gripped the mail and a letter fell out from in between a Macy's magazine.

I bent down to grab it and my breath caught when I saw who it was from.

The Vanderbilt's.

I haven't heard from that family in almost 4 years. I quickly teared open the letter and began to read.

Dear Miss Parks,

The Vanderbilt family would like to invite you to Aidan's 18th birthday party. It will take place on November 3 at 6:30-11:30pm in the Vanderbilt mansion. Please join us to celebrate a fantastic event...

Sincerely,
The Vanderbilt's

I laid the invitation on the counter. It was unexpected to receive one. I looked at the calendar on the fridge and saw November 3rd was clear.

I groaned and looked at the letter again. I hadn't seen Aidan, or the entire family in a long time. I knew that I should go for him, but my mind wandered to one of the other brothers.

The mysterious, handsome brother with the throaty laugh and dimpled smile. He was the heartbreaker, the player and the one who had my heart.

His name was Reid Vanderbilt.

I threaded my fingers as the cab drove closer and closer to the mansion.

I surprised myself by being here tonight. Making an appearance will get people talking.

Falling off the face of the Earth for two months and suddenly reappearing makes a lot of people talk.

Especially if you had the money and fame almost as great as the Vanderbilt's.

I could here the music and see cars trying to get into the gates from a block away.

This made me even more nervous.

The place would be packed which meant more mouths to be opening about me.

I got out of the car when the driver pulled up in front of the 5 story house.

Memories from my childhood filled my mind as I stepped out of the car.

The party was filled with teenagers and adults all dressed in fancy clothes. I could tell this party wasn't Aidan's choice.

My heels clicked as I walked toward the kitchen to get a drink to wash my worries away.
