Then you get some kind of vision. There was a mysterious man in dark clothes helping Aether fight an Abyss Herald. Then Lumine appeared. Soon after that, the man left by entering the portal.

You: I...sorry, I just...I think something came up to me...there was this strange man in my vision. He was helping you beat the Abyss Herald...
Aether: Strange man? Oh, you mean Dain?
You: I'm assuming that's his name, right?
Paimon: Yup! But...he's from Khaenri'ah...so...

You: That's right. Atleast that didn't happen until I dropped into the ruins of Khaenri'ah.
