Chapter II

Ellis P.O.V

  I don't know how long I slept for, all I know is that when they woke me up, they weren't happy. 

I must have slept for over 12 hours since the sun had started creeping in through the windows on the other side of the room. I don't know how no one woke me up earlier. Usually we are just allowed 3-4 hours of sleep before the find something more "useful" for us to do.

"Get up pet", one of the keepers yelled

I didn't know their names. I wasn't allowed to talk to them, I wasn't even allowed to talk to any of the other pets.

"Don't make me repeat myself, the store will be opening soon and we all know what will happen if you don't get sold today" he said with a disgusting smirk

" We got to get it all cleaned up... and maybe dress it appropriately to see if anyone would waste their money on this thing" Said the all too know voice of the shopkeeper, Mistress Annelise

You see... I was never treated like a human. I was never allowed to be referred to as anything but an object, a thing. It's not that I ever expect for someone to have the small amount of decency to at least acknowledge my humanity. To see that i'm not an item. But I guess that would never happen now that my end is nearing by the minute.

I finally did as told. I didn't need to anger them even more since they would get to have me tomorrow.  

I showered for the first time in years. And put my clothes on... well what was left of them. And started the long journey from the basement to the store front.

The store had already opened, and just like everyday, the best picks were already gone. I know I don't stand a chance against them. They are all confident and they know how to put on an interested front.

I know none of them are actually confident or happy. I know that none of them wanted to be sold to do gods know what for their new master or mistress.

It was just a coping mechanism. One I don't think I could stomach even trying. 

They pretended to be all these things because they had hope. Even the ones that had barely any left. Mistress Annelise once told us that if we are compliant and interested, we are most likely to live longer lives. So that's what they all do, fake it so they have the smallest chance of being believed.

But I knew that the vampires were too smart to not see right through them. They always do.

Flashback: Ellis P.O.V.

"Yes Mistress Annelise" little Ellis said with all the confidence she could muster.

" Run along then, you know better than to keep them waiting" Annelise said

"umm.. umm.. good morning sirs... Mistress Annelise said you wanted to see me"

" Indeed we did thing, what a confident little girl... Speaking and all. How old are you girl" The creepy old vampire with red eyes practically growled

"e-eight... Sir" I tried so badly not to stutter, but it was no use. I was scared... and they could see right through me as they stepped closer to me

  I can't start thinking about it again. I cant think about that night again. It feels too real. I feel their hands on me again. I feel their fangs digging into my neck as I pleaded... as I begged.

"You're okay Ellis. Everything will be okay. You're in control. You're in control and you are safe"I  whispered to myself

"Im sorry that happened to you.. those vampires seemed so mean" I heard a little voice whisper sadly 

"W-what? who are you" I asked looking around the room still trying to find the source of the voice.

Suddenly, a small blonde child comes into view. She can't be older than 6, but by her height and the way her eyes look you could tell she's not human. You could tell that she's one of them. 

"Wh-why are you... umm... how did you.." 

" Did you forget that most of us can sense feelings? U were so scared... I just had to say something" she mutters sniffling while hugging her octopus teddy bear in hand.

"Well..umm.. why are you her-" I start but immediately get cut off by a someone

"ALICIA EMORY ACHERON" an angry dark haired vampire rushes by

" sorry uncle Theo... she just looked so scared" the little girl says tearing up as another vampire sweeps in and picks the little one up

"Its okay princess, uncle Theo is just a dic-"

"ALEXANDER" the angry vampire growls 

" Sorry brother... I can't lie to my favourite niece" the blonde vampire says

I slowly start walking back to my cage hoping they didn't notice me... I was almost successful until the dark haired beast looked at me and spoke

" You... Don't take another step" he said angrily

I finally looked up and saw him... little did I know this monster would be the one to change everything.

Hey besties!! sorry I took so long to update. Junior year is really being a bitch Rn.

Soo.. they finally met. Next chapter will be in Theo's P.O.V.
