Day in and day out, Hanseo slipped in and out of consciousness. The stinging wounds on his body and the soreness of his lower region had long blended into one indistinguishable painful sensation. His brother had truly outdone himself. Hanseo was so sure that he would die once he found himself in an abandoned warehouse that he discarded the possibility of being tortured. He was a fool for not seeing ahead. There was no way his monster of a brother would end his life painlessly.

Time was nothing more than an imaginary concept in this dark, dilapidated confinement. Hanseo didn't even try to guess how long he had been held captive. His inconsistent consciousness made it impossible to keep track of the days. The only aspect that stayed constant was Hanseok's visits. Once a day, or perhaps twice a day, his brother would show up with new tools to use on him. Knives, needles, hallucinogens: Hanseo had the great displeasure of experiencing every sort of pain imaginable. And when Hanseok got bored, the older man would start using his fists. Hanseo learned to not mind though. He would much rather be punched than violated. However, his brother enjoyed the latter option more.

Only a psychopath can get turned on by this, Hanseo thought. Oh, wait... he is a psycho. However, regardless of whatever method the monster tried on him, Hanseo always returned to his sarcastic, uncaring self. Given, that wasn't really his true personality, but he could keep on an act if that meant he could savor Hanseok's fuming expression. He enjoyed talking back; that was the only thing he could do while being tied down. His brother must've thought he was insane. And perhaps he was becoming insane ever so slowly.

The tiny ounce of hope he had of being rescued was disappearing completely. Knowing Hanseok's erratic temper, he could be killed any moment. Would Vincenzo and Chayoung manage to find him in time? He wanted to at least see their faces before he died. He wanted to thank them for making him a better person, for giving him the courage to finally do the right thing. At the very least, he knew they were more than capable of bringing down Babel even without his help. Hanseok was going to fall from grace no matter what. If only I could be there when it happens...

"Little brother! It seems like you're awake without me having to wake you up," a voice announced.

Hanseo sighed as he slowly sat up. He never realized how hard it was to move without the use of his arms propping him up. With each slight movement, the rope dug deeper into his wrist.

"Happy to see me?" the monster asked, a smile adorning his face.

Instead of replying, Hanseo simply blinked. His throat was still hurting from being choked the previous time his brother visited.

"Whoops, I guess you still haven't recovered from yesterday."

Again, Hanseo met his brother's playful eyes with his cold ones. There was no point in amusing the psychopath. He would much rather get his punishment over with.

"Don't give me that look, little brother. You're making me sad."

"I didn't know you could feel sad," Hanseo retorted with a smirk. The comment must've irritated the monster since he received quite a painful blow to the face. However, Hanseo's laughter only amplified.

"Crazy bitch." Hanseok ran his hand through his hair, letting out a breath of frustration. "What the hell happened, Hanseo? You used to be so obedient."

"Even dogs bite back when their owners treat them poorly. Did you think I was lesser than a dog, hyung?"

"Don't fucking talk to me like that, you fucking whore." The monster cracked his knuckles. "You're going to relearn how to fucking respect me."
