When I finally fell asleep, it seemed like only minutes after my alarm went of. 6 AM is not a good time for me. I slipped on my skinny jeans and a warm sweater. January in Colorado sucked. Especially in the mountains. I just wanted to be somewhere that was warm all the time.

I brushed through my messy hair and applied my makeup.

I finally got up the courage to go upstairs and face my mom. When I walked into the kitchen Beau was sitting on the counter eating a bowl of cereal. My mom no where in sight.

"Hey bud" I said with a smile, kissing his head. Lately he was they only person that could make me even a little happy.

"Gwenny!" he yelled hugging me. "Why didn't you read me a bedtime story last night?" He looked sad.

"I'm sorry bud! I went to bed early because I was tired." I said to him.

"It's okay.." I could see the pain in his eyes. For being only two, he looked really hurt.

"I promise I'll read you one tonight, okay?" I said smiling.

"Okay!" He yelled, he happiness returning to his eyes.

I heard my moms footsteps coming into the kitchen. "Great.." I mumbled.

"Good Morning!" She said to me, like nothing had ever happened.

I didn't reply. I just grabbed my backpack and walked out.

"You're too late to catch the bus Sweetie." She said before I could walk out.

"I'll just walk." I said to her, not even glancing back to look at her.

"It's really cold. And you'll be late to first period. Let me drive you."

"Nope." Was all I said. I walked out the door and down the street. Once I was two blocks away, my stomach grumbled. Then I remembered I hadn't eaten breakfast.

I walked into a nearby service station and bought a coffee. I paid for the hot drink and walked outside. It was extremely cold. I pulled out my phone and looked up the weather. 12 degrees. "Wonderful." I thought out loud.

As I was coming into the parking lot of the school, I was texting one of my good friends Lacey. I wasn't paying much attention to where I was going. And I ran right into someone. Spilling my coffee all over his gray jacket.

"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!!" I said, trying to wipe of the stain.

"Your just going to make it worse!" He said to me chuckling.

I shyly smiled and looked up to his face. His bright green eyes captured me. I couldn't move. I just stared.

"I'm Levi." He said down to me smiling. He was at least half a foot taller than me.

"I'm G-Gwen." I stuttered.

"Here lets get inside where it's warm." He said to me. Showing his perfect white teeth.

I followed as he lead me into the school.

"Do you go here?" I asked him.

"Yeah. We've gone to the same school since sixth grade."

"Well that makes everything awkward." I said to him.

We both laughed.

I went into the restroom and came out with some paper towels. We quickly tried to wipe off as much of the spilled coffee as we could, but it was pretty much all ready soaked into the fabric.

"Great." I said, looking down at my shirt.

"I've got an extra jacket in my locker, come on." He said to me smiling.

I happily followed him. Once we got to his locker he quickly put in his combination and opened it. He pulled out a red sweatshirt and handed it to me. I gladly took it.

Just as I had finished pulling it over my head, the bell signally the end of first period rang. I really was late. As Levi closed his locker, a flood of people started coming into the hallway.

"Sit with me at lunch?" Levi asked me.

"I'd like that." I said smiling.
