"I pray to be like the ocean,

more, I want consistency

the lows."

is more powerful than any

earthly power, at least

Kali Beaumont had always known there was something different about her. Not because she was found abandoned on the beaches of Hawaii by a family she was later adopted into, no, but because of what was before that. Memories, albeit blurry, of an underwater domain. Sea creatures of all kinds. A much older brother who visited, and a doting mother, and a busy father who did his best to care for her as well. Their faces weren't all there, just fuzzy images with the more distinct features standing out. Unfortunately as time went on those memories felt more like they were dreams. Whenever she told anyone else, she was told that she had a wild imagination even for someone her age.

Then, six years later followed by a move to New York City and getting chased by a sphinx, Kali finally figured out the truth. Greek gods were real and thanks to one of them cursing her with mortality as a baby, she would never forever be with her parents, Amphitrite and Poseidon, the mighty rulers of the Oceans. She didn't know the details of why she got cursed or by who, along with the other minor details, but she didn't care about that. Really, other than the fact that she now knew who her parents were, Kali didn't care much at all.

All she cared about were her younger adoptive siblings, Naia and Makoa Beaumont, and spending time at Camp Half-Blood dampened her plans on keeping an eye out for them. She liked the camp, believe her; it was a safe haven, a place she might even call home, but it was also a place she couldn't stay for good because her adoptive father decided to become one of the worst people on the planet after his wife died.

She might be only be a kid but she would do anything for her siblings in a heartbeat.

So imagine her surprise when she learned that, not only that she had a half-brother a year older than her, but that he was supposedly the one who stole Zeus' lightning bolt. (Of course, they suspected her as well, but Kali hardly worried about herself on the best of days.) Not only that, but he might also be part of some great prophecy Chiron and another camper named Annabeth Chase refuse to speak fully about to either of them.

Now Kali had three siblings to worry about full time. It's going to be an interesting and violent next few years, that's fore sure.

A/N— me: oh yeah this'll be a fun little thing to write in my past time or something
also me: obsesses over it for a month and completely forgets about everything else i'm currently writing

That ^ is actually about this book's sequel which takes place during The Heroes of Olympus series, but considering I have yet to even finish the first book of that series, I decided to put time into fleshing out Kali's back story: aka, her journey through the pjo series (which I have read and finished about a month ago). So, yes, technically this could be a ~prequel~ in the grand scheme of things. And I'm gonna be honest, the plot is just Kali growing into herself/her powers, forming a good brother-sister bond with Percy, befriending Annabeth, and [insert spoilers here's regarding her fucked up adoptive father] plus some other things revolving around pjo's plot. It's quite family oriented and focused on friends, I guess? Like there'll be a romantic interest or two but they don't last and are very background and not with any canon characters. That's for book two lol

And yes, I know the 'percy has a sis' trope is probably (most likely) overused, but do I care? No. I even tried to switch up Kali's parentage somehow to change things up but I ended up not liking it and everything seemed off, so. You guys are stuck with an overused trope! Deal with it.

Now get ready for pain. Kali goes through some shit :)

DEDICATION(S)— to all the percabeth shippers <3

WARNING(S)— violence, typical PJO shenanigans, mentioned child abuse, character death(s), murder, the 2000's atrocious clothing styles, the greek gods' awful parenting skills
[if needed, I will add onto this as well as put up a warning at the beginning of the chapter if necessary]

DISCLAIMER— I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians nor the plot of the books. The characters and stories rightfully belong to the creator. I only own this story's plot and my original characters.
