Chapter 10

3rd POV: After successfully getting a few candies, Lucas, Grace, Sophie and Maddie went back to Grey House

Lucas: We're back! - he said walking in. Stephanie and Cassie came to them

Stephanie: So.. any candy? - Lucas smiled and poured the candy on the table

Cassie: Wow

Grace: Way better than we thought

Sophie: Really good candy too - she said eating one

Lucas: Little chilly outside tho

Cassie: There's hot chocolate on the kitchen

Maddie/Lucas: With mini marshmallows? - they looked at each other and laughed

Cassie: Yes

Stephanie: And fresh baked cookies, just don't eat them all

Lucas: I'll do my best - they laughed and went to the kitchen

They had some hot chocolate, ate a cookie or two, talked for a while.
Eventually people arrived and the party began. There were some really nice costumes, everyone was having fun, it was great.

Lucas was looking for Cassie but then he found Sophie sitting on the stairs

Lucas: Hey - she looked up at him - Are you ok? - he came closer to her and sat down

Sophie: Yeah, just admiring the place. Last night here

Lucas: Well, you can always come back for Christmas, it's very nice too - she smiled - What's wrong Sophie?

Sophie: My mom told me why we came here on Halloween. The actual reason

Lucas: And what's that?

Sophie: She has a boyfriend, for about a few months now. And apparently he proposed to her and she said yes

Lucas: That's great - Sophie nodded looking down - Isn't it?

Sophie: It's a little weird.. I don't know. My dad just..

Lucas: I get it. I do. I was used to seeing Cassie with Jake. Then a few months after I left Jake died. And when I finally come back, Cassie has a fiancé.

Sophie: But you like Sam

Lucas: I gave him a chance.

Sophie: How do you know I didn't give Henry a chance?

Lucas: You wouldn't be upset if you did. Your mom isn't the type of woman who would be with someone that isn't good for her and for her daughter. Give him a chance, you might be surprised- she took a deep breath

Sophie: You just have an answer for everything don't you? - she asked smiling

Lucas: I try. Come on - he got up and out his hand out - Find your mom, talk to her. No one should spend Halloween sad or upset- she took his hand and got up

Sophie: Thank you - he pulled her into a hug.

When they broke apart, Sophie went to find her mom. He stood there looking for a second as they talked. When he saw them hugging, he smiled and turned around to go find Cassie, but bumped into someone

Lucas: Sorry

Maddie: Too distracted with your "friend"? ("air quotes")

Lucas: This again? You want to tell me something Mads? - she looked at him for a few seconds

Maddie: No - she tried to walk away but Lucas held her hand and pulled her back closer to him

Lucas: Are you sure?

Maddie: I'm sure, let go

Lucas: You're different, something's off

Maddie: Boohoo, go cry to your friend about it. - she turned around but he held her hand again

He looked around and there was a party going on so he pulled her outside

Lucas: What's your problem?

Maddie: What are you talking about?!

Lucas: You've been extra rude since you got here. What's that all about?

Maddie: Are you really that stupid?

Lucas: Probably - she was serious but then when he said that she laughed - A little better now

Maddie: Stop - she tried not to laugh

Lucas: You know you can't be mad at me. I just don't under why you're trying so many times.. - he looked down

Maddie: Lucas.. - she sighed - I was jealous - he looked at her confused

Lucas: Of what?

Maddie: Of Santa! Who do you think??

Lucas: Mads.. you broke up with me..

Maddie: I know I know.. I just. I saw the way you looked at Sophie and the way she looked at you and it bugged me. I'm sorry, I know I have no right to, but it's the truth

Lucas: And you couldn't have said that? You had to be a pain in the ass for the past five days - she shrugged her shoulders and sighed

Maddie: Won't happen again..

Lucas: Hold on. If you were jealous..

Maddie: Here we go..

Lucas: Means you still like me - he smirked and she rolled her eyes

Maddie: Ok. Let's go back inside yeah? - she took a few steps but he pulled her back closer to him - You do that a lot you know?

Lucas: You never told me to stop.

Maddie: Hm.. - she looked down. He gently grabbed her chin and lift it up making her look at him - What are you doing?.

Lucas: You want a manual? - she giggled. He looked at her in the eyes and she blushed a little

Maddie: Lucas..

Lucas: Hm?

Maddie: Please don't play with me.. I can't.. - he stopped her and kissed her, she kissed back

Lucas: You should have known better.. you can't resist all of this - she rolled her eyes and he laughed - I don't want you upset.. You have no reason to be. Sophie kicked me to the curve

Maddie: She did??

Lucas: Don't sound so sad please

Maddie: I'm not happy, I'm actually surprised... Guess your not that irresistible after all - she turned around a walked up the steps to enter the house

Lucas: It's working with you isn't it? - she stopped walking, he walked to her, then opened the door for her and whispered - Bullseye

Maddie: Whatever- she tried not to smile

They went back to the party and just enjoyed the rest of the night.
It's the good thing about Middleton, always magic in the air, specially on Halloween
