Emma's P. O. V:I canter Raven around the arena the next day, wearing a yellow and white striped shirt and black jodhpurs, along with a set of amber sun jewellery.
I'd been warming Raven up for the past hour and decide he's ready for the jumps. There's a water jump set up as I want to try and get him over it.
I canter around the arena and head for the first fence. Upon reaching it, Raven sails over it. I steer him towards the second fence and we clear that one, too.
"Good boy, Raven. One left," I say as I see Zoe come up from the corner of my eye, leaning on the fence as she watches me. Raven continues at a strong canter for the water jump and I keep my hands relaxed yet steady on the reins, keeping my legs on him as well. However, just when we reach the fence, Raven stops short and sharp and lets out a frightful whinny, tossing his head. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! It's ok, Raven. Ssshhh!"
I eventually calm him down and pull him away from the fence before I trot him calmly around the arena.
"Still no luck?" Zoe says as I halt near her. I shake my head with a sigh.
"No. I'm getting nowhere with his fear of water. I'm still taking things slow with him, though."
"Hey, can I ride Raven today?" Zoe asks.
