Custody

Chapter 3

Draco worked quietly the next day. He back still ached from the spell and just life in general.

Draco stirred some gillyweed. He paused as an owl flew in with a letter.

He grabbed the letter opening it.

Mr. Draco Malfoy. Please come to the ministry of magic tomorrow noon to finish the custody hearing.

Draco smiled happy. He spelled the potion away going and doing some last minute things.

He called the few house else giving them an itinerary. Tomorrow would be the day

Draco arrived for court early. He kept his hood up only to be pulled down by Blaise who was there as a witness.

"I cannot WAIT to see you raise a kid" he said with a smile.

Draco rolled his eyes.

"What?! No witty remark?" He asked "Wow you really are ready. My little Dragon all grown up!" Blaise said tearfully.

"Don't call me that" draco shoved him lightly with a smile.

"Ahhh there's a reaction!" Blaise said. "Plus I think this'll be very good for you."

Draco smiled taking a seat for once he didn't care who saw him.

Harry stood outside the room kneeling.

"Chin up Teddy. Im gonna do everything I can okay to make sure you come back" Harry whispered to the child infront of him wiping his eyes.

"Did I do something wrong Harry?" Teddy asked quietly.

Harry shook his head.

"Absolutely not. You're perfect buddy. There's someone in there who is more of you family. They want to spend time with you. I'll still see you!"

Teddy nodded as a witch walked out. "It's time. Follow me" she stated.

Harry sighed standing straight carrying Teddys things. He felt Teddys hand slid into his as they walked through.

Never in a million years had Draco expected Harry to walk in with his cousin. Draco could see the surprise of Harrys face as well. Draco also heard Blaise curse.

The head wizard, Timothy spoke.
"Nice to have everyone here this time." He stated glancing at Harry.

"Now due to the last hearing that Mr Potter here missed his custody rights have been waved. Teddy Lupin please step over here"

Teddy hesitantly walked over to the wizard.

Harry rose. "I'm requesting to plead my case! I wasn't here last time bec-"

Tim silenced Harry with a wave of his wand.

"Failure to show up makes you lose that opportunity." Tim turned to Draco. "Now Mr. Malfoy" he stated as Teddy walked over to him.

Draco looked at Harry who looked upset.

"Actually. I would like to hear what Mr. Potter has to say. He has been raising my younger cousin for 8 years"
