Narrator POV.?

The blaring of an alarm clock was heard as Millie sat up and turned off her alarm hoping out of bed with a smile excited for a new day, thinking it would be perfect when it was in fact very far from perfect.

As she brushed her teeth her mother yelled from downstairs "Mills! There's a garage sale today you should check it out" she spit out her toothpaste and rinsed then replied"okay mom! Can I take chesney?" And her mom was happy to see her wanting to spend time with her sister and agreed. She quickly put her slight curled hair into a low bun with two strands in the front and changed her clothes (outfit below)

She ran downstairs and hugged her younger sister Chesney and joyfully stated"Ches we're gonna have a lot of fun today I'm gonna take you to a garage sale and you can get a toy too!" Chesney smiled and hugged Millie back "thank you milsbee!" she said with gratefully

As they got to the garage sale Millie bumped into someone she quickly started apologizing"I'm so sorry I didn't see you and I bumped into you I'm sorry I'm really sorr-" she looked at who she was talking to she saw a boy with curly hair and good guy doll in his hands, the boy interrupted  her as she rambled with a slight smile"it's okay really! It's not a big deal" and she apologized again and waved goodbye to the boy as Chesney dragged her off to look at toys. On their way home chesney bluntly said"was the boy with a doll gay?" Millie gasped and replied "chesney! You can't assume people's sexuality it's rude....but I think he was too". They both shrugged and continued walking home hand in hand.

TIME SKIP

Later that night around ten she heard voices so she went downstairs as she got to the bottom of the stairs she opened her eyes all the way to see her father and a strange man, her father saw her and shouted for to look away but she didn't and regretted it as the mystery man pulled a sharp knife out his pocket and stabbed her father,she cried as he screamed in pain,her mother soon came rushing downstairs as the man pulled out a gun her mother cried begging the man not to hurt her beloved husband but it was too late the loud sound of the gunshot ,her fathers screams and the sound of his body dropping , her mother's sobs, and the sound of the man breaking their window and escaping would live in her head forever. That day made her realize just how cruel the world was.

Fun fact: Millie got the nickname Milsbee because she had always loved bees and had an odd obsession with honey
