- WHAT'S GONNA BE
LEFT OF THE WORLD ?

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷

y/n l/n
Her chest rose up and down, almost too rapidly. Perhaps being human had some practice needed to it. As she stood in front of the class, her eyes glossed over the crowd of students who were all peering right back at her. Most seemed excited to meet the new-comer; mainly hormonal boys who were a tad bit too excited to have a new, pretty girl. y/n wondered if they all thought the same thing as they did the first time she did this.

Although, this time around y/n had a lot more feelings to learn to control, and it was weird not being able to use any powers. Mind reading certainly had its perks. What if they didn't like her this time though?; a thought constantly running through her mind. It wasn't like she'd be a whole different person, but she surely wouldn't be as charming, pretty-perfect, Angel-like just as before. But she knew who they were, right? She already knew all their likes and dislikes and personal feelings right to the bone. They were her family, after all. This time, she just has to try a little harder to convince them that again.

"Good morning! My name's l/n y/n, it's a pleasure to be here. I hope we can all be friends!" Her words were exactly copy-pasted the first time this introduction began. Saiki, sitting behind an empty seat, mentally smiled at this fact. She was different, but she surely never changed. 'What does she need to be insecure about?' He questioned to himself, his cheek falling into the palm of his hand. 'She's got this. She's perfect.'. y/n couldn't read his mind, but even his eyes spoke comfort to her.

As the teacher ushered her to take her seat right in front of the psychic. It was funny; it was a whole new year, and yet things felt the same. Maybe it was the issue of Saiki repeating the same year so much that it all felt the same. But they were able to finally grow a year, now able to experience new things, with the same people. y/n was happy that she got to sit in the same seat just as before.

Not too long, lunch came by, and now their dilemma began. How were they supposed to introduce y/n into their group just as they did before? How could Saiki and y/n establish their relationship, without it seeming too suspicious that they're already 'close friends'? Well, it's the Disastrous Life of Saiki Kusuo and the plot just allows it to work itself.

Just as she remembered, the blue-haired beauty came first. "Hello there~! My name's Teruhashi Kokomi, I hope you enjoy it here!" y/n couldn't forget that golden glow around her. Despite the personality she remembered, Teruhashi was still stunning. Yes, maybe the jealousy would get to her, but she worked hard to keep all of her fans and friends happy. y/n, now like an excited puppy, immediately grabbed Teruhashi's hands into her own and nodded. "It's lovely to meet you! You're really pretty, so it's an honour to be here with you." y/n didn't mean to sound as fan-boyish as she did, but it sort of slipped out.

Saiki couldn't help but to snicker, he didn't remember her being so excited over every detail, but he could understand. She was similar to a foreigner visiting a new country. As y/n's words escaped so smoothly, Teruhashi couldn't help but to break out into a blush. She was so forward! "O-Oh! Thank you!" She smiled back, looking down at their connected hands. Wow, how ironic for someone to make Teruhashi 'Oh!' instead of the other way around. "If you'd like, I'd like to show you around the school." Her offer was the same as before, and y/n, again, agreed. "That'd be lovely, thank you.". Saiki scowled. Was Teruhashi about to take his girlfriend too?

'I'm surprised you're so willing to like her after everything she's said about you.' Saiki murmured through forced telepathy, raising a brow at her. y/n gently looked over her shoulder, eyes smiling, 'Yeah, but she technically hasn't said it yet. She's not mean, she's a jealous teenager. I'd do exactly the same if someone was flirting with you.' She mentioned, speaking in her mind. She knew he'd listen anyways. 'You'd what?' Saiki sat up. 'You heard me.' And another student came by.

He towered over the girl, an intimidating aura to him. Looking up, she felt her excitement jumping all over again. "Hello! I'm l/n y/n!" She introduced, not once fearing of Nendou and his funky haircut. "Oh!" He paused for a moment, before going back to his original question. "I'm Nendou Riki, would you like to come with us to eat ramen after school?" It was straight-forward, and y/n didn't expect anything less. "That'd be perfect, and who's 'us'?" y/n questioned, taking a quick glance at all her old friends.

"Well it's me, the runt over there, and my pal right here." He pointed to each one, then hugging Saiki's head as he motioned to his 'pal'. He grunted, glaring up at his friend. 'He definitely didn't do this before. Let go of me!' He mentally yelled. Saiki made sure to directly talk to y/n through telepathy, and always listen to her words just as they used to. It took a bit of time to figure things out, but he wanted to be sure she was as comfortable as possible whilst adjusting to her new self.

"Hey! I have a name you know!" Came shouting a light-blue haired boy. Head whipping over, y/n had accidentally choked out a 'Jet-Black Wings!', before slapping a hand over her mouth. Maybe the 'new y/n' was just loud and impulsive. "W-What?" He sputtered out, a furious blush coating his cheeks. "You... You know me?" He muttered out, before falling into a daze. "I'm famous! She knows who I am! For real this time, I'll save the world!" He cheered, flowers and glitter around him. 'Good job with the slip-up. Thank god he's a dumbass.' Saiki sarcastically sighed, crossing his arms. y/n sheepishly smiled at the other, rubbing the back of her neck. 'At least I gave him a confidence boost?'.

Though she wasn't exactly perfect with replicating her first interactions with everyone, she sure knew how to get them to warm up to her. 'Like a natural.' Saiki admired the girl, who was trying her best to respond to everyone crowding her. Something she didn't miss was the awkward popularity and everyone suddenly inviting her to everything.

'She'll be okay. She always is.'.
