"Attention students, one more announcement before you finish your dinner, and mingle with our guests. Tomorrow night will be the night to put your names into the Goblet of Fire. And please be sure to remember... No tricks." Dumbledore announced. Tris and George, slowly and quietly made their way back to their seats with no questions asked from their group of friends. Everyone's attention turned to Dumbledore and no one really knew that the two teens were back and were even gone for that matter, not for that long anyway. Someone noticed, but it wasn't from the Gryffindor bunch.
"Hear that, Georgie? No tricks he says." Fred said giving his twin a wink. George smirked back at his brother and Tris nudged him playfully in his side. He grabbed his heart sarcastically like he was in pain, and then playfully shoved her back.
After readjusting herself in her seat, she looked across the room and noticed that same pair of eyes was turned and focused on her. Susan Pevensie looked as if she could see Trista's soul. She stared hard and long until Draco nudged her getting her to stop. He looked over to see who she was staring at, and met the eyes of Tris. Draco didn't hate Tris, but he wasn't too fond of her either.
Tris wasn't even blinking. She stared back at them and tried to figure out what they wanted. George noticed her stiff behavior and looked at her. He noticed her eyes were locked onto something and he wanted to know what it was. He then bent over to her eye level and looked across the Great Hall trying to find what she was looking at.
He finally found out what or rather who she was looking at. Susan noticed George looking in her direction and met George's gaze instead of Trista's. She smiled a little and sent George an awkward hand wave. George knew what she was doing, so he nudged Tris and brought her attention over to himself.
George knew why Susan was so against Tris and he didn't like it. George had told Susan in his third and fourth year that he found no interest in her, nor did his twin. But she wouldn't give up until she got what she wanted.
But now that Fred is with Angelina, she gave up on him and turned her attention to George hoping he would change his mind about her. That wasn't the case. He had eyes on one girl and one girl only. Susan Pevensie however was not that girl and it made her blood boil.
"Sorry about her. She can be a real twat sometimes." Peter said as he noticed Susan's attention was over at the two Gryffindors that were seated next to him. "Its fine, Pete." Tris said looking to him and then back to Dumbledore.
Just as Dumbledore was about to say his final words for the night, sharp lightning and the booming sound of thunder spread throughout the entire Great Hall. The starry illusion night sky that usually covered the ceilings of the Great Hall, was now changed into a thunderstorm. Students began to feel uneasy and started to panic slightly. All of a sudden, a strange wizard appeared out of nowhere and cast a spell into the thunderstorm causing it to vanish almost instantly.
All of the eyes of both the students and the professors were now on the strange man. He walked down the halls with a limp in his step, carrying what resembled a cane. As he limped down the aisles of students, everyone noticed how strange he looked. He had long shaggy hair, and what looked like a robotic eye. As he walked past students, the eye would turn and look in any direction it wanted, creeping some of the students out.
He made his way to the stadium where Dumbledore stood and shook his hand. "Oh yes, I almost forgot. This will be our new DADA teacher, professor Moody. Please be sure to let him know how welcomed he is to this school. That is all for tonight, students. Enjoy your meal, and make some new friends. Don't forget about tomorrow nights events. Have a good evening." Dumbledore said as he stepped to the table where all of the Professors were sitting and began eating his own meal.
All of the students were finishing up their meals as it was getting late. George and Tris along with their usual group of friends walked through the halls together and they all carried on conversations with each other. "I wonder who's gonna be the three champions chosen to compete in the tournament tomorrow!" Lucy said aloud. "I don't know, there's a lot of students to choose from." Edmund said.
"Speaking of a lot of students to choose from, I've noticed you have your eye on someone, Lucy." Tris said as she playfully bumped into Lucy and smiled at her. Lucy's cheeks started to flush red and she smiled bashfully. "Oh, its nothing. He's probably not even interested in me anyway." Lucy said still keeping that smile on her face. "Are you kidding? Have you seen the way he looks at you? He totally fancies you!" Tris said. "Really?" Lucy said with a huge smile on her face. "Of course!" Ginny replied from behind.
As the group continued walking down the halls, Cho Chang could be seen waving in the distance to Edmund. Everyone knew that she fancied him, and he fancied her back. Edmund then said his goodbyes to the group and walked side by side with Cho. Moments later a voice could be heard a little ways behind them. "Lucy! Hey Lucy! Wait up!" chanted Cedric Diggory as he caught up with the group of close friends.
"Hey Cedric." she said to him. "Hey guys." he greeted to the rest of the group as he tried to catch his breath. "I was just wondering, if you'd like to walk back to the common room with me, Lucy? I mean, it is almost curfew and we should be getting back anyway." Cedric said as he kept looking down at his feet and then back up to Lucy's eyes.
"I'd love to." she said grinning from ear to ear. Lucy then walked off with Cedric keeping that smile on her face as she waved goodbye to her friends and brother. Everyone was happy for Lucy and was glad that she herself seemed happy.
It was now time for all of the Gryffindors to head back to their own common room. Tris, George, Fred, Peter, Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Ginny all walked back to the common room. Tris said the password to the Fat Lady, and she let them in. The boys said their goodnights to the girls and headed to their dorms. The girls did the same shortly after the boys left.
"Alright, its kind of obvious that we all fancy one of the boys right?" Hermione said as they were all changing into their nightwear. Ginny and Tris looked to each other and started laughing. "Can you keep it down please? I need my beauty sleep." called out the blonde curly-haired girl, named Lavender Brown. Ginny rolled her eyes and mocked Lavender quietly and Tris nudged her while laughing getting her to stop the mocking.
"To answer your question, Mione, yes." Ginny said. "Right well, we all know that Ginny fancies Harry, and over half of Hogwarts knows who you fancy, Tris. Its obviously George." Hermione said. Trista's cheeks turned as red as her sweatshirt and she began fiddling with her sleeves. "Yes, and I know who you fancy, Hermione." Tris said bringing the attention off of her. "You do? Who is it?" Ginny said looking curiously to Tris for an answer. "Its Ron of course. I've seen how you look at him." Tris said smirking.
Hermione then began to blush and tried to hide her face with the pillow. "You fancy my brother?" Ginny said laughing. "Well I'm not the only one that fancies one of your brothers." Hermione said turning to Tris.
"Right, well, goodnight." Tris said as she turned over on her stomach and buried her face into her pillow. Hermione and Ginny laughed quietly and they both got ready to go to sleep as well.
