Dancing in the moonlight with everyone watching felt so wonderful. The song ended and Danica got back on the mic, "Now that's a very cute couple." After she said that Bruno reached into his pocket. He had something in his hand but I didn't know what. Then he knelt down and took my hands. I wasn't sure what was happening.
He said, "Noel, I love you. I've always loved you since the first day we met. I never wanted to lose my best friend, and now I never want to lose my love for you, you mean everything to me." He let go of my hands and took the lid off the small box. "Noel, I'll always love you, and I promise we'll get married. That is, if you want to." Tears started rolling down my cheeks, my hands covering my mouth.
"Oh my god! Peter, I'll always love you. I promise." Bruno took the ring and put it on my left ring finger. It's so beautiful, it's silver with two little hearts interlocking. Bruno stood up and we kissed and then hugged for so long.
I whispered in his ear, "We're still having sex though, right?"
He said back kind of louder then a whisper, "Oh, hell yeah. We aren't doing that no sex until we're married thing."
I laughed quietly. "Good, it wouldn't matter anyway. We already broke that." We laughed softly and then turned to everyone, holding hands. We put our hands up that were together, and everyone cheered. This was the best feeling in the world, having everyone know how much we love each other, that we really mean it and always will. Everyone congratulated us when we stepped down off the platform. We left prom and truthfully, I don't know how it could get any better.
"Let's go home!" Bruno said when we got in the car. (Kira went home with a boy she danced with and Ryan went out with some girls.) We pulled up to our little duplex and he carried me inside. He laid me down on our bed and took off my heels. He took off his shoes and his jacket that was over his shirt. Then he laid down next to me.
"This has to be the best night of my life." I said tiredly.
"Me too." Bruno said playing with my hair. We kissed goodnight and fell asleep.
