A/N some topics may be triggering and you may cry. Sorry

Hey I'm Valerie Thompson and my best friend is Annabeth Chase. I am 19 years old and go to college in New York with her and we have been best friends since she arrived.

One day though, everything changed.

Recently, Annabeth had seemed happier but also cautious. She left lessons late and arrived early, avoiding the crowds in the corridors.

It was a Tuesday when everything went wrong. We were sat at lunch, just having finished Greek, oh yeah, the Greek gods are real and all that, when she suddenly dashed off. If you know Annabeth you know that you don't follow her so I, and the whole school, watched as she ran out.

I feel like I should fill you in on our friendship.
There's four of us. Me, Annabeth, Marie and Rhea.
We keep ourselves to ourself and don't talk to anyone outside our group. We're not mean or anything, we would just rather keep to ourselves you know?

Anyway, back to Annabeth.

She didn't return for over ten minutes.

I glanced up, noticing Percy Jackson staring at the door, worry clear on his face. He seemed nice, surely he wasn't one of those jocks who just wanted to hit on Annabeth right?

Speaking of Annabeth, she came back into the canteen, all her happiness gone from her face, tears streaming from her eyes. She was slumped over and dragging herself as if the worst thing in the world had just happened. But her fists were tightly clenched, she looked broken; but she also looked angry.

No one expected it, but she walked over to Percy's table and crawled onto his lap.
This wasn't the Annabeth Chase anyone knew, the Annabeth Chase who would judo flip any boy daring enough to ask her out. This wasn't the Annabeth Chase that corrected the teacher. This wasn't the Annabeth Chase anyone knew.

"-Beth" Percy's voice came out hoarse

"She did it again" she looked up at him, tears streaming down her face

"I hate her so much" Annabeth was shaking with rage at this point

She stood up off Percy's lap, yelling at the sky " Do you hear this. I hate you! I hate you so much! You keep ruining everything" , her voice caught on the last word.
"Everything. You're ruining everything" luckily, Percy grabbed her as she collapsed, his legs giving way as her buried his face in her hair, tears sprouting from his eyes.

The school was in shock. No one said anything. Not even the girls infatuated with Percy, not the boys obsessed with Annabeth, not the teachers in charge of lunch. No one.

Thunder shook the sky up above and four people walked through the door.

Not people, Gods.

Annabeth stood up, her finger pointed forward.
"You" she pointed at Hera. Annabeth was going to get herself killed. You don't use that much hatred when talking to the Queen of the Gods: not if you wanted to live.

"Aphrodite, get down here! Or how about bring the whole bloody counsil. I have a few things to say to cow lady here" you could hear the bitterness rolling off of Annabeth. Percy grabbed her hand.

"We have a few things to say to her" his once beautiful eyes were now dark and deadly, like a storm strong enough to rip apart the earth.

Ten more Gods walked into the room. The front one looking rather angry indeed.

"Why do you hate us so much?" Annabeth demanded, finger still pointed at Hera

"I-" Hera started

"Why is it so hard to let us live like normal people. Did you not ruin our lives enough when we were young? Why do you still have to go after us?" Annabeth hugged her stomach while Percy hugged her

"What did you do!" Aphrodite screeched, turning to face Hera, "it took forever to get them together, let them live!"

"I agree. Have they not already been through enough?" Poseidon moved to stand next to Aphrodite and Percy.

"I can't believe it but I agree with him too. This sea spawn makes her happy and you are ruining that. They are married for Hades sake " Athena stood next to Annabeth.

Slowly, the gods stood to stand beside Percy and Annabeth, and surely enough, only Hera remained. Even Zeus stood beside Poseidon, though albeit less angrily than his brother.

"Tell them what you did" Percy spat at the goddess. "Tell them how you enjoy ruining our lives"

"I- I- I'm not letting Annabeth carry a baby" Hera said, her demeanour wavering

"YOU WHAT!" screamed Aphrodite, hurling herself at the goddess, making them disappear in a puff of pink smoke.

"We will fix this son"
"I will make sure of it daughter"
Poseidon and Athena said in turn,"you deserve this"

"Come with me" Zeus said, sticking his arm out to Percy and Annabeth
"I will make her promise. You have earned this"
And they disappeared in a spark of electricity.

I never did find out what happened on that day, but all I do know is that soon Annabeth and Percy had to leave school to make way for their new arrival at home; so I guess the Gods stuck to their word.
