Luce ran into Ragen's room, quickly followed by Tamo and Tark. They came in to find Marla lying on the ground. Luce started to check her to see if she was still breathing, and checked her for a pulse. It was there! It was faint, but it was there!
"What happened, Luce?"
"Ragen attacked her. Be quiet while I see what I can do."
Luce put her hand on Marla's chest as she used her healing abilities to start to bring her back. A few agonizing moments passed before another sound was heard, and that sound was the wonderful sound of a young girl taking a deep breath. Luce stood up and walked to the two guys.
"She'll be asleep for a few minutes, but she will be fine. I'm putting her in your care. I trust you can take care of her."
"What about you and Ragen?"
"Ragen's dead, and the Force Bond did its job. I am now in no shape to take care of a child. My mind is going, and I will be of no use to Marla. The ship is now yours. Take good care of it and Marla."
"Where will you go?"
"I don't know, but I can't stay here. I know I am putting a lot on you two, but I know you can handle it. Go back to Dantooine, and tell Master Wilkin what has happened. What you don't know he will hear from Anaria."
Luce walked past them, headed down the ramp, walked away, and was never seen by the two of them again.
Tamo and Tark sat in the room watching Marla closely as they talked about what to do. Soon Marla's eyes opened, blinked a few times, and then she started to get up. Tark ran over there, and pushed her back down.
"Just rest, little lady."
"What happened? Where's mommy?"
Tark looked to Tamo for support, and Tamo just shrugged. Tark looked back at Marla.
"Mommy and Aunt Luce went on a trip, but Uncle Tamo and I are going to take care of you."
"Where did they go?"
"I don't know."
Marla started to cry, and Tark sat on the bed with her, and picked her head up slowly as he hugged her.
"Now Marla, Tamo and I love you. You will be happy with us, and we will go on many wonderful adventures. Won't that be nice?"
