Marcus and Mercury are abandoned twins, who
wander the crowded city of London. But their real
home is not London streets, in fact it's an
abandoned mansion buried deep within, Hidden
from sight in the unkept forest of London. Was a
long forgotten mansion, excluded from other
buildings due to it being in the almost,
countryside of London behind patches of woods
and forest leaving no neighbors or people near
the secluded, lone mansion.Mercury is commonly described as a thief. While
Marcus, is often viewed as a silent mysterious
child who runs around doing odd jobs.
"Burdened" with a "no good twin sister." The
people of London who knew the twins thought
Marcus to be, an "smart" but "unfortunate child"
commenting backhanded things such as"oh! what a brilliant and smart child " "if only you
had parents to put you in school.." "You could
have brought so much honor to your family "Oh,
anyone would have killed to have such a smart
boy..." "if only you didn't have that sister of
yours..."Of course Marcus never took any pleasure in
these "compliments", because for every quick
"compliment" they spewed out their mouth.
There was an quicker snide remark about his
"poor circumstances". Despite being aware these
"compliments" were fake, Marcus sat perfectly
still through them "pleasantly" listening about
how "unfortunate it is that you don't have any
parents" or "how horrible and tragic it must be to have such a sister" Marcus knew he had to sit
there and bear all these humiliating
"compliments" with a smile, because if did not
listen to these ignorant people gossip about him
and his "unfortunate" situation he will never get
what he wants out of them, he never sat or spoke
with these people for the sake of agreement. Nor
because he felt particularly pitiful and criplied by
the world. He does it for survival. Making himself a "charity
case" for the people of London so they can so
"graciously" spend on and do a "good deed".To call Marcus "evil" or a "swindler",for, taking
advantage of, and making use of this messed up
world system would be hypocrisy for most.
Marcus is just trying to live, like everyone else
who is fighting for survival in this cruel, cold
world. The world itself tended to bear its evil claws to its
inhabitants, but...that is for the future to truly
reveal to Marcus. Though he is conscious of the
fact the world is not a kind one. Marcus may be a
teenager, but that doesn't mean you can mistake
him with the mind of a child. He is far above his
peers when it comes to intelligence and
consciousness, that is why he is the brain's of
their little duo, while his twin is in fact, the
brawn's.casually weaving through the stress of London
somewhere in the year of 1900's. Marcus goes
through the alleyways and streets of London
trying his best not to paint a target on himself.Because of his young age, criminals and other's
struggling to get by, just as he. Will take him as an
easy target, listing another of one of many
disadvantages Marcus has hated the world for
cursing upon him, he tries his best to find any job
that would take him despite his age. both him
and his sister regularly attempted to find jobs,so both of them could eat enough to stay alive,
and keep the abandoned mansion they lived in
clean enough so neither of them would contract
diseases or bugs from their beloved home.He tended to have more luck than his sister, due
to his gender of course, yet the universe can't
deny it is also the fact trouble seemed to follow
his sister wherever she went.him and his sister live a life that is uncommon in
its own time. Despite being dirt poor they lived in
somewhere big, and extravagantly beautiful,
even if people who could actually refer to
themselves as extravagant would find his home
distasteful, Due to the nature that ran through it.
He and his sister always found themselves
adoring that very nature, sharing comfortable
and sweet little moments within it. Despite him
being a boy, or well, the "man" of the house he
was not "strong" nor was he "fierce" due to his
frail lungs, though he couldn't be born in a wrose
age for his weakness. It was still better than being
born in the wrong century. At least he knew what
he was getting into when he was born. Even if his
illness prevented him from being able to fight. He knew how to escape situations, he was also
forced to learn how to sharpen his own mind at a
young age, because hes was aware if he can't
protect his sister physically, that he would have to
at least be smart enough. Being capable of
out-witting the danger instead of out-fighting it. It
was something that had to be done, but it was hard. Hard to find the will to live on his
own, without his twin, his own free will, when his
sister's freedom and happiness was in danger.
Even though physically, she, herself, tended to get into a lot of dangerous situations, always
somehow managing to anger the wrong people
at the wrong time. But he is accustomed to using
his silver tongue to get her, and himself, out of the
danger, his twin jumped head first into. Most of the time....
