I'd tell you my secret, but then there'd be a chance you'd never believe me. Like, a 100% chance, yet, how could you?...
~~~
"Come on Y/N! We have to leave now if we're going to get there by sun set!" Yelled your father as he waited in the car for you. In your room, you sighed heavily. How did it end up like this anyway? A small memory of the earlier event starting forming in your mind
"What?! What do you mean we're leaving for the summer?!"
"Well Y/N I just thought that since it's going to be a long 12 weeks out of school, you'd want to spend time somewhere new. You know, like being out of the house."
"Dad, I'm fine, I don't mind being alone, I actually like it"
Your father only shook his head at your response and sighed, "Look, Y/N, I know that this is how you are now, but just think, you'll get different opportunities to do some things!"
"What kind of things??"
"Well..." he began, "You could finally have a chance to get out more and spend time with your aunt and her family"
You rolled your eyes before speaking, "Dad, I haven't seen aunt (aunt name) since I was 7, that was like, half my life ago! She's a stranger to me now!
"Y/N, don't be like that, I-"
"You just always think you know what's best for me, but really you don't! You never do! I'm not stupid dad! You always do this! Wait until the last minute to where you want to tell me something that you know could upset me!"
A pause of silence was given as you both looked at each other, it was too late that you realized what you had said. It was clear on your father's face, as his expression fell down. "D-Dad I-"
"No, I'm sorry, once again, I've made you angry, like I always do when I screw up, I'm sorry. I can't help it at all, ever since....ever since...your mom died, I admit I'm not the man I used to be, I'm pitiful...but...I just...I just want to be a good father to you, like your mother always wanted, please...just please Y/N, understand..."
You never liked making your dad this way, you hated it more than anything. You loved your dad , and the fact that arguing with him, wasn't helping your relation become any better. Your mother died a long time ago, yet although know one understood how she died, you did, or at least you thought you did. Everyone called it suicide, but you knew it was murder, yet no one believed you. You were there on that day after all.
"I understand dad....I'll go"
And that's how it all happened, as you pulled your suitcase out the door behind you, the thoughts were carried in your mind. 'Maybe it won't be so bad as I think it will be' But then again, this was your first time ever leaving the house, so a bit of every emotion was spinning inside you. 'What am I gonna do?' You thought as you got in the car.
~
The drive had been longer than you expected, and quieter than anything! Not a single word had been said as you two were on the open road, yet you noticed every few minutes your father would peek at you. You wanted to say something, but it was so difficult, you never were good with feelings.
"I-I!"
You both stopped before trying to speak again, but seeing as how you both had something to say, it wasn't working. "No you go first Y/N"
"No, you dad, really"
"Well...I'm...I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanted...if you want...we can turn around now and go back home"
