(George POV)

I woke up back in the castle looking around. Wait...Why am I back here?! How did I get in here? Did I get sent back? While I was asleep? As I panicked around, someone knocked on the door. "George, mind if I come in." A familiar voice said through the door. The door opened and there stood a woman. She was wearing a red gown, her hair tied into a braid, and was smiling but it looked forced. "Good morning...mother..." my mouth moved by itself. I sound like a 5-year-old. Am I dreaming about my past? But why? I never had any dreams like this. Why is this happening?

"Come with me, George," She said as she gestured to me to hold her hand. I felt my body move by itself as I grabbed my mother's hand. "Do you want to go to the garden today?" She asked while we were walking to the dining room. I nodded my head slowly. "Mom, what's for breakfast?" I asked. "Bacon and egg, I hope that's okay for you."

We went inside the dining room and took our seats. My mom turned to the maid standing behind her and asked where my father was. "He's still sleeping, your highness. Should I wake him up?" The maid asked nervously. All the workers here are very scared of my dad even now. Well, outside this 'dream' of course. "Yes please." My mom ordered the maid. She hurriedly walked away to call for my dad. As my mother and I waited, she asked me something very questionable. "Did you remember any of this?" I looked up to her only to see no one beside me. Before I knew it, no one was around me. Everyone disappeared. Everyone left me....alone.

(Narrator POV)

George woke up, Dream and Sapnap still right beside him. He heard a yawn from Dream and turned to his side, facing him. Dream felt George wake up, so he woke up as well. "Did you have another nightmare?" he asked George in a sleepy voice "Yeah but...it's a little different from what I usually have nightmares about..." George answered. "Really? What was it about?" Dream asked curiously. "It's...it was about my mother...my father said she disappeared when I was 5. I don't remember much about her...all I remembered was that we're going to escape together...and then she...she just-" at this point George started to cry, stuttering at every word he said. "Hey, it's okay...I won't disappear from your side. I'm here." Dream hugged him tightly as he cried. Dream felt a wet patch forming on his chest but he didn't mind.

"What are you two doing?" Sapnap woke up from George crying. "Oh, sorry for waking you up. George had a nightmare...sort of. It was about his past." Dream apologized. Sapnap wanted to know what George's dream was but didn't ask because he thought it would make George uncomfortable. Sapnap quietly left the room since he didn't want to be just awkwardly there doing nothing. "Good morning Sapnap! Are Dream and George awake?" Bad asked as soon as he saw Sapnap leave the room. "Yeah, Dream is just comforting George because he had a dream about his past." Sapnap went to take a seat waiting for breakfast. "What's for breakfast?" Sapnap asked boredly looking down at the table. "Omelet." Bad simply answered. As they silently waited, Dream and George went out of the room.

They all ate breakfast as usual. Dream, Sapnap, and George went to a corner of the garden where there were a lot of red roses. "George um..." Sapnap was hesitant to ask George. He's afraid to make George uncomfortable while talking about his past. "If you want to ask about my weird dream, I won't mind. I kinda like talking about my dreams. It makes me feel loved and cared for." George smiled softly at Sapnap. " I overheard that you were talking about your mother...um...I wanted to know about it." Sapnap asked. "Well...I don't remember much but from my dream...she called me for breakfast and I guess we hung out a lot, unlike my father. He was late for breakfast like always, then my mother asked me a weird question..." George trailed off, remembering the last bit of his dream. "My mother said 'Did you remember any of this?' and then everyone else disappeared...and that's when I woke up." He said. Sapnap looked down in thought. "So...what happened to your mother, anyway?" Sapnap asked him. "Well...I didn't know her very well, my father said that she disappeared but...I feel like maybe she's dead..." George said, hesitant about that last word.

George spotted a black rose near Dream's side but it looked like someone was standing on it. Their feet were transparent and they were wearing a torn dress. He looked at their face but it was very blurry. He felt tears falling from his eyes and his breathing getting faster. He doesn't know why it's happening. He just felt scared, sad, and angry. "George?" Dream called out for him but he didn't react. He still looked like he saw a ghost.

"George, it's time for training," Bad said as he snapped the black rose from its stem using scissors. That seemed to snap George back to reality and looked at Bad. "Come on George, we still have a lot to learn." Bad grabbed his hand and led him to Bad's room.

(Dream POV)

"Hey, Sapnap...does Bad look at black roses like that?" I asked but my eyes were on George walking away until he went inside. "Yeah...kind of. Whenever he saw one he would mumble words saying that he's sorry." Sapnap answered. I looked at the black rose beside me and took it. "Let's make a flower crown out of roses," I said and walked to where I saw a lot of roses growing. Sapnap didn't ask any questions and followed.

I don't know why I wanted to make flower crowns. Maybe it just makes me calm and comfortable. Now that I think about it, ever since I was 8, I didn't make any flower crowns until George and I made one. It just kinda became a habit of mine instantly. I would just do it whenever I'm bored and have nothing to do. Maybe because I was afraid it'll remind me of that day. The day my family died...
