"James, can you get my phone from my saddlebag?"
He doesn't say anything back but I hear him fumbling.
A second later he gives me my phone. I take it with my free hand, unlock it, and call Alex.
She picks up on the second ring. "Hey! What's up?"
Oh I didn't get to say she's on speaker
"Is that my sister?" Oh bless your heart james
Anyway. "Sorry Alex! I'm riding and I wouldn't be able to hear if you weren't on speaker! Okay anyway remember that kid you hospitalized?"
"...Yes?" I can tell she's confused.
"Do you know where he usually hangs out?"
"Let me ask Linda. LYNN-" I hear her yell and then she goes on mute.
I wait. We wait. Yeah, Brightheart is waiting too. We are one.
Alex comes back. "Linda says outside Fort Maria."
"That's what I thought. Thanks, bye!" She must be so confused because I didn't even explain.
We're in Mistfall now. Anyone could tell, their air is so clear. I can't even remember how to get to the trail, if I'm being honest. Mistfall's like a maze. A beautiful one.
