Next morning, Zak and I get up to get ready for work.I put on an outfit that's bold:
Zak looks up at me and smiles.
"Where do you hide these outfits?" He asks. I smile. He then grabs the centre of my harness and pulls me closer. "I like these on you. Makes me feel like you're caged and only I have the key." He says. He places a kiss on my lips.
"Come on, let's go, we'll be late." I say. I flip my hair round and walk out the house. I load Ghost and Mist into the car and we drive over in separate vehicles. As we arrive we see a face we didn't think we would see back. Holly.
"Hope you're here to do your job this time." I say as she walks into the building. Zak looks down his glasses at me. "What? I don't have to be nice to her? Not after what she said." I kiss Zak goodbye for now and make my way over to my building to open her. I find the door to be open, before going in I phone Zak to come over. Before stepping inside. I walk around to check if there was anyone in the building or anything missing. And nothing was out of place. I then go into the office and see why my door was open. In the office on the sofa, lay Clayton.
"Clayton?" I say. He sits up, opening his eyes. "You been in here all night?" I ask, sitting next to him. He nods, his eyes all red and poofy. "What are you doing here?" I ask.
"It's Mom, she... took her life." He cries. All I can do is hold my brother in his sorrow, because I don't feel any. Why should I? But my brother needs me in this moment. Zak comes barging in looking for me, to see us in this moment.
A few days pass and I have Clayton working for me. And couch surfing in our house. When we hear sirens approach the building and see blue lights through the window. Myself and Clayton exit my building and Zak, Nancy and Holly exit theirs. Zak and I look at one another, he raises his hands asking what's going on. I shrug my shoulders. Just then a whole team of armed police exit a van.
"Clayton Warren, put your hands where I can see them and do not move." Came a voice. I look over towards him with confusion.
"I'm sorry TigerLilly." After the words leave his mouth. It's like everything if happens in slow motion. Clayton moves, pulling something from the back of his pants. I hear what sounds like the officers shouting.
"Gun gun gun!" Again all in slow motion.
I look over towards Zak who is moving in slow motion towards me shouting for me to...
"Get Down!" I duck. And there are loud noises and flashes from all directions. I become drenched in blood splatters from Clayton. Seconds felt like minutes, but soon the noises stop. I look over at Clayton, who is motionless, eye glazed over, looking at me. As a single tear trickles down onto his cheek. I stare at him for a moment. When I am broken out of the stare by Zak. "Are you ok?" He asks in sheer panic.
"My. My arm." I say. I look down to see a bullet grazed my arms. And it's bleeding pretty bad. When an officer comes over to me.
"Miss Warren?"
"It's Mrs. Bagans but yeah that's me." He says.
"Hold on, you just shot my wife brother in front of her, hitting her in the process. She needs medical attention." Zak spits with anger.
"She will get medical attention in the car. Mr. Bagans, can you follow us to the station please." He asks.
"Oh don't worry I will be."
"Follow me Mrs. Bagans." The officer guide me to the ambulance and they put pressure on my wound before I climb into the police car to be transported to the station.
When at the station,I am placed in an interview room, where Zak came in and we waited to find out what was going on, while a medic stitched me up. After the last stitch is placed in my arm, the officer that escorted me here comes in.
"Mrs. Bagans, Mr. Bagans..." Zak and I are listening. The officer sits down. "...my name is Derek, I'm the lead investigator on this case." He says.
"What case?" I ask. The officer looks over at Zak.
"Do you know this man?" He then puts a picture in front of me.
"Elliot Warren." I scowl. He then puts another picture of him in front of me. Mangled with blood coming form his head, eyes and mouth. "We found him like this about three weeks ago." He says. He puts another picture in front of me. "Do you know this woman?" He shows me another photo.
"That's my Mom." I says.
"We found her like this two days ago..." He slides another picture of her onto the table of her with multiple shotgun wounds to her face. "...Tell me. What is your relationship with these two people?"
"They are my mother and father." I say.
"You don't seem very upset about it."
"I never said it was a good relationship. My parents weren't very nice people. I have no remorse for them." I state proudly.
"And what of your relationship with Clayton?"
"I didn't know he existed until two days ago. I met him at Elliot's funeral." I say.
"Well, Mrs. Bagans. I'm sorry to say that your brother, murdered both your parents." I stay silent and Zak places his hand on mine.
"In all honesty and respect inspector. I lost my parents a long time ago. Why am I here?" I ask.
"We have a few things for you to listen to and read, we feel like you have the right to know about it." He says. He brings out a laptop and presses play:
9/11: 9/11 what's your emergency?
C: I killed both of my parents.
9/11: Sir what's your name?
C: Clayton Warren. My dad had already been buried and I just shot my mom 5 times in the face with a double barrel. You can her at her home. You'll figure it out the address is in your records. You will find me at the Warren museum in Vegas. There is a note for my sister. Give it to her for me. She needs to know why
Call ends.
"We have the note. We have read it. I'm so sorry." Derek says. I take it from him and read it out loud:
TigerLilly,
Well, if you're reading this, it means I'm dead. Sorry I know that's cleché but it's true. Don't feel bad that I'm gone, it was my choice. Your probably wondering why I did what I did. Not that you'd really care that they are gone. But, I lied to you at the funeral, Mom got worse after you left. She drank so much Alcohol I was born an addict, she didn't even go to the hospital to have me. I was 7 when Elliot got out of prison, and when he came home... Mother ignored my cries too. It wasn't just me this time. He'd help out at school fates and do it there too. The justice system didn't give enough justice for what he did to you, so I did it for them. I'm sorry I couldn't be a better brother to you. I'm glad I got to meet you. And I'm glad you managed to escape. I think I'll stay at your museum if you don't mind? If you ever wanna chat, you know what to do.
You can finally be free.
Your brother always,
Clayton xxx
I look at Zak who has tears in his eyes.
"Mrs. Bagans you are free to go now." Derek says.
"Can I keep the note?" I ask.
"We will send it to you in the mail. Once it's been signed for and things..." Zak and I go to leave. "...Mrs. Bagans. You'll forgive me. But I know you must have escaped way before all of this. You should count yourself lucky. Not many people are that fortunate." He says. We then leave the station and Zak has his arm around me, escorting me into the car.
