Sitting on the balcony of your apartment you take a drag from your cigarette. This entire week it was raining nonstop. You gaze into the sea of trees below watching birds and squirrels scurry to find shelter from the rain. you take a long hit from your cigarette. there is a knock on the front door, you jump from your chair putting out the cigarette and tossing it off the balcony.

Waiting outside your door was your roommate Tidus, a short, white chubby dude. he had been gone for a few weeks at his sister's place for a family holiday. "will you help me bring some stuff in from the car?" Tidus asked but you knew it was more of a command. carrying 2 bags of clothes and other items upstairs you noticed on the first floor that one of the apartment doors was open. many of the first floor spaces were unoccupied and whenever someone new moved in everyone in the complex was talking about it.

after tossing tidus' stuff into his room you ask him if he knew anything about any new tenants moving in, "oh yeah, I think so?" he looked up from his phone "I heard from Neveah some old lady and her grandkid are moving in. she said the kid kind of looked like you"

that last sentence caught you off guard, you had no family in or around the town you lived in.

tidus and you had stayed up late into the night talking about your time apart. The whole time you couldn't get your mind off of what he said earlier. No way this kid looked like you
