Sophie’s POV
We all pulled into the driveway or parked in the street in front of my house and got out of the cars following me inside after I unlocked the door. Ashton went straight for the fridge while everyone else looked around awkwardly.
“Guys I’m not gonna yell at you for touching anything” I rolled my eyes
“Yeah make yourselves at home” Ashton mumbled with his head in the fridge. I rolled my eyes as they stayed where they were, still not knowing what to do.
“Ok Ashton move” I said pushing him out of the fridge “What do you guys want to drink?”
“What do you have?” Michael asked
“Anything” I shrugged.
“I’ll just have water” Harrison shrugged. I got a water bottle turning to him and throwing it at him. He caught it opening it and taking a sip.
“Dr. Pepper?” Joe asked. I nodded grabbing the drink and sliding it towards him on the counter. I got everyone there drinks grabbing bags of chips and goldfish going to the living room and setting them on the coffee table. Ashton spread himself out on the couch only to get up so Luke could sit next to him. Joe took the love seat pulling Harrison on his lap, as Calum sat next to him pulling Trevor on his lap. Michael sat on the single seat as I went to the one of many game cabinets grabbing a deck of cards.
“Ok we are playing Kemps” I said shuffling the deck sitting on the arm of the chair Michael was sitting at.
“Kemps?” everyone but Trevor and Ashton asked
“Have you guys never played kemps?” Ashton asked horrified and everyone shook their heads ‘no’
“Disappointing” Trevor shook his head in shame
“Ok so how you play is we get in pairs, as we already are, and everyone gets four cards” I started
“And you make a ‘secret signal’ with your partner” Ashton continued
“You put four cards in the middle and you grab what cards you need to get four of a kind and if no one can do anything with those four it’s dead and you replace them with a new four cards” Trevor continued
“And when you get four of a kind you do your ‘secret signal’ and your partner yells Kemps” I continued
“But if you think someone else is doing there secret signal you yell stop kemps and your team gets that point” Trevor explained
“If you get the kemps or stop kemps your pair gets a letter of kemps and who ever spells it first wins” Ashton finished
“Ok it sounds complicated but let’s do this” Joe clapped his hands standing up with Harrison with him
“We’re going to make our secret signal” Trevor took Calum’s hand follow Harrison and Joe to the other room.
“We’ll be back” Luke said pulling Ash up and going out of the room
“So what’s our signal?” Michael asked putting his arm around me and looking up at me
“Um you can run a hand through your hair” I thought “And I can like stick my pinkie out”
“What?” he chuckled
“Like you hold your cards and when I have four of a kind I’ll stick my pinkie out like I’m having tea or something” I laughed
“Sounds good” he laughed. I got off the arm of the chair sitting criss cross on one side of the coffee table as Michael sat across from me. Harrison and Joe came in Harrison sitting next to me as Joe sat next to Michael. Luke and Ashton returned next Ashton sitting on the other side of me while Luke sat on the other side of Michael. Finally Trevor and Calum came in with Trevor sitting on the other side of Harrison and Calum sitting next to Joe.
