It turns out, I'm my worst enemy
Don't know how to be a friend to me
Don't think I'll ever change, yeah

My mom frowns as she listens to the words coming out of my mouth.

A break down is my daily routine
A fake smile is my accessory
I'm tired of feelin' low
And I'm too tired to hurt

I smile at her to reassure her that I'm in a better place than I was a year ago but she still continues to frown as she crosses her arms.

Yeah, I feel too much, almost deadly
Overthink it all, keep obsessing
Here I go again, why'd I let me
Get so empty?
I feel empty
Empty

Summer smiles as she films me on her phone and I wink at her.

Yeah, I feel too much, almost deadly
Overthink it all, keep obsessing
Here I go again, why'd I let me
Get so empty?
I'm so empty
I feel empty
Here I go again, why'd I let me
Empty

I scrunch my face up as I think back to the time where I felt this way. I found out that the man that I loved had proposed to another woman after a couple of months of dating her and I just felt my whole world crumble in that moment.

Yeah, I feel too much, almost deadly
Overthink it all
Here I go again, why'd I let me
Get so empty?

"Wow." Summer sets her phone down as she starts clapping. "OMG! Tatum you sounded so good, I can't wait for you to release this album and go on tour."

"Thanks Summer." I set my guitar down on the sofa as my eyes flicker over to my mom who hasn't said a word. "What did you think?"

"It's a lovely song but I'm not happy." Her voice breaks when she say happy and it takes her a moment to regain her composure. "When did you feel like this?"
