The two of them took their time coming down from the high of passionate sex. Y/n floating with sleepy pleasure; Rindou internally solving the problem at hand. Silent and comforting. Each touch deliberate. With a warm rug, he cleaned her off. Wrapping both arms around her waist in a tight hug, kissing her uninjured shoulder as he brought both of them into her room to lay in bed. The blankets and pillows welcoming, and Y/n hummed to herself as she rested her head on his shoulder. The other hand running light fingers across his intricate tattoo design. With a heavy sigh, staring up at the ceiling, he finally spoke up, "Tomorrow this is all over." She couldn't help but scrunch her eyebrows together, does he mean the job or us?, "It doesn't have to be." Her own words barely above a whisper. Rindou pushed himself up from under her embrace, turning on his side to cup her face. His eyes searching her face with hope, "You're right. It doesn't." A heavy hesitate sat in the room, but he couldn't stop from blurting out what he wanted to say,
"Run away with me."
A soft smile, and a light laugh, Y/n faced him but kept her head on her pillow, "Run away?"
"Yes. Just...just pack a bag with the stuff you have here." Looking around the room, her things sprawled about, her many things, "Well..the important stuff. Pack a bag, we'll get in my car, and we'll just go. I have my own place. I'll hide you there and protect you. You don't have to worry about your husband, I'll take care of him."
Her fingers stopped caressing his skin, "Husband?" Lack of understanding would've been an understatement. What the fuck is he talking about? Rindou grabbed her left hand, his own fingers began twirling around her ring finger. Sadness panged his expression, looking at the empty spot. "I always wondered why he doesn't make you wear a ring." Wet eyes looked up at Y/n through his lashes, "I mean, if I was married to you I'd make sure everyone knew who you belonged to."
She had become uncomfortably quiet and his skin was itching. While his own thought were hopeful she would just run off with him, reality was hitting Y/n like a ton of bricks. All of his odd habits, conflicting behavior, hurtful words, and brief intimate moments. It all finally made sense to her.
And she couldn't help but burst out laughing.

At first, he was hurt. Stiffening in place. Thinking that she was laughing at him for even suggesting that she would leave her husband. Then bewilderment set it, he truly had no clue what was so funny. But she kept pointing, then wiping tears from her eyes as she repeated, "You, Ah! You really thought, oh, oh my, ahahaha, you seriously, actually thought, oh no, hahahaha" The sentence couldn't form.
"Y/n, what the fuck is so funny right now? I'm being serious and telling you that I want to fucking be with you and you're laughing at me."
She cleared the tears off her face and eyes, breathing deeply, "No. No, Rin. I'm sorry." Another deep breath, "Alright." Another deep breath and she spoke slowly, "You think Itomi is my husband?" Her mouth threatening to explode in another fit, trying to stay serious and not smile she bit her bottom lip. He studied her with perplexation, speechless all he could do was nod. He had no idea where the conversation was headed. Y/n just cupped his face in between both of her hands, smiling just as sweetly as ever, but talking to him as if he were a child.
"No. Rin, he's my dad."
What? Logged off, shut down, no connection. Rindou could not physically comprehend what she had said. His mouth dropped, turning away from her, head leaving her hands, and looked around the room. As if searching for an answer. Lost and confused. Y/n almost started laughing again, but he jumped out of the bed and started pacing.
"What?!"
"What?!" She gave him a lopsided grin when he stopped in the middle of the room to stare at her in shock.
"Yep. Father....not husband." Leaning on her elbow watching him with pure amusement. It was written all over his face that he connecting all the dots. The lightbulb practically glowing over his head.
"So what you're telling me is...."
"That we could've been doing this the entire time but you're an idiot." Shaking her head, laughing out loud again, Y/n fell back onto the pillow side eyeing him. "Me!? I'm the idiot?!" He was back to walking around the room again, "It's not like you ever clarified any of this for me Y/n!"
"I didn't think I had to! I mean I figured my dad would've made it obvious when he hired you!"

Rindou stood at the edge of the bed, meeting her eyes. Still speechless but then kneeled, elbows propped up as he rubbed his temples.
Y/n's voice became tiny again, "Does that change everything?" Guarded, vulnerable feelings were creeping up in the pit of her stomach. Rin's own eyes narrowed at her,
"What're you talking about?"
"Now that I'm not someone's wife. Like the excitement or whatever. Now that I'm just me. Still wanna run away together?" He was quick, with grabbing her face in his hands, squeezing her cheeks to make her lips pucker. Giving her a crass kiss, "Well we don't have to fucking run away now. Of course, I still want to be with you. I mean, more than anything. This just makes it a hell of a lot easier." Crawling into the bed, to curl her around him, he kissed the top of her head. "I didn't just say that to say it. I've fallen so hard for you because you're you. No other reason."
Y/n was smirking cocky and lifting her chin, "Yeah I'm pretty irresistible if you ask me." he pinched her cheek between two fingers, "You're a fucking brat." The two laughed together, settling into each other's warmth. Falling asleep came easily for the first time in a long time for Rindou that night.
