Chapter 22

We were finally eating and I eventually got comfortable with Zane's family.

"Quick question?" Mauro's mother said. I nodded and she went on. "What happen to your's, Zane, and Nicole's hand?" She asked.

I look at the other two and back at my pizza. "We got into a fight." Nicole blurted. "All three of you." She asked. "At the mall." Zane said.

"That was y'all?" Ryan asked. "Yeah." Zane said. "Y'all just kept going for more." Ryan said. "Half of the food court was holding all three of you back." Sienna said. "Damn." One of the aunts said.

We explained what happen over again to them. Then we showed them the video which they thought it was hilarious because we just kept going for more and more.

"Quinn? Can we go play?" Mauro asked. "Yeah let's go." I said. "Quinn one last question." Mauro's father said. I nodded as a signal for him to continue. "Would you ever like kids?" He asked leaning back and crossing his arms. I ended up choking in my salvia because it caught me so off guard. My face was red like a tomato. "Some day, yeah, I guess." I stutter. He nodded and I grab Mauro.

"Me too." Eli said. I grabbed his hand and we walked off to a game. I never really thought about the idea of kids. Sometimes I think I'll end up like my mother but then I realize that I'm not her. I'm better and I won't become her. I won't abuse my kids like she did to me.

I remember that one time Zane asked me the same question...

Flashback

"Do you ever want kids?" Zane asked. I turn my head towards him and I see he's looking up at the ceiling. He slightly turned his head towards me and smiled. "I don't know." I answered truthfully. "I'm scared that in some way I'll end up like my mother and if I do have them I don't want to become her." I explained. "You're not." Zane said. "You'll be better than her. You'll love them and not hate them." Zane said.

"How do you know?" I asked. "Because I believe you can be someone better than her. I believe that you won't become her. I believe you in Quinn, I'll always believe in you." Zane said. He stuffed his face in the crook of my neck and I giggled. His breathing tickled my neck and I pushed his head away.

He chuckled at me and kissed my cheek.

End of Flashback

I watched the boys get their tickets and we walked off to another game.

After sometime passes Zane joins us and then Nicole and Ryan. Nicole is blushing deeply as Ryan is just smirking. I chuckled and Zane wraps his arm around my waist. I was helping Mauro stand on the booth so he could shoot the basketballs better. Zane was carrying Elias. "What are you lovebirds doing here?" Zane said. "Zane it's an arcade what do you think?" Nicole stated. "He meant with us. Why are you here with us and not somewhere else eating your faces off." I said. Ryan smirked and Nicole's face got redder. Zane just laughed at the two.

Zane was rubbing my stomach for some weird reason as we talked to the other two.

We continue to play games and win prizes. Some people thought that Mauro and Elias were our kids. Mauro looks a lot like Zane and Elias looks like me. Mostly because of the eyes. "How many people had com up to you thinking you guys are family?" Jason said. "A few." I responded. "I wouldn't blame them either." He said. "I know, we look good as a family don't we." Zane said. Nicole and Ryan laughed. Jason rolled his eyes at him. "Where's the other trouble maker?" I asked.

"Probably beating up Ian and Lance for a game or something." He answered honestly. "Of course." I said. "Hey Nicole have you found someone cute?" I asked. Ryan looked at her waiting for her to say something. Almost like begging for her. She knew what I was doing and nodded her head. "There was this boy earlier- oh look that's him." She said pointing at him. I look and he was cute. "You should ask for his number." I said. "He is cute." I tilted my head but a pair of small hands covered my eyes. "But Mauro, Elias, and Zane are better." I finished. Elias smiled and nodded.
