Chapter 17

Justin
Jason threw another little rock into the pond as some of the water splashed. It was a quiet day today and I'm not going to lie, I felt depressed. I don't know if it was the dark sky above us or the fact that I'm mostly alone since my dad got that job. I know I have Jason to keep me company, but I don't always want to bother him. Jason and I haven't said a word since we've sat on the old bench, which is unusual because usually he never shuts up. I see on the corner of my eye Jason looking at me, probably wondering why I haven't said anything yet. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly."Yeah I'm fine." I mumbled. "Hey I have a great idea! How about we go somewhere?" He said excitedly. "Like where?" "You'll find out. Come on let's go!" He grabbed my hand and we left the pond. We started walking to the fence and I was wondering where we were going.

We were driving in the car for about a half hour now and I have no clue where we are. I keep asking Jason, but he says it's a surprise. "Please please please!! Tell me!!" I begged and he just chucked. "No can do my little juju. Hey that rhymes!" I rolled my eyes playfully. "Your so stupid sometimes Jase." "I'm a cute stupid, right?" "Of course you are." The rest of the ride to wherever we were going involved us singing loudly to random songs on the radio. Jason turned the music down when the one song ended. "You know, you have a good voice. You should consider singing." He said seriously, but I wanted to laugh because I knew I wasn't that good. I shook my head. "I enjoy singing, but I don't think I'm the best at it. I do want to get a new guitar though. I've been saving for a couple years, but every time I add money, I have to use it to help pay the bills." Jason grabbed my hand and was about to say something, but I squealed in excitement as we pulled in the parking lot of an aquarium. It's been forever since I've been to an aquarium. It was easy finding a parking spot since since no one was here. "Why isn't anyone here?" I asked. "It's always quiet on Saturdays for some reason." He finally parked into a spot. "Wait here for one second." He said as he got out of the car and ran to my door and opening it for me. I blushed at how cute he was acting, especially in public knowing that there could be homophobics here. I got out of the car while thanking him and he held his hand out for me to take. We walked into the aquarium and there was a couple people who were looking at all different kinds of fish. We went to the counter to pay to get in and the lady behind the counter smiled happily at us. "You two are adorable together!" She exclaimed. I blushed and Jason laughed at my reaction. "Thank you." He said and he paid to get in.

"What do you want to see first?" Jason asked. "Can we see the jelly fish! Please!!" I begged for what feels like the hundredth time today. "Sure anything for my little juju." He continued to hold my hand as we walked to where the jellyfish were. I pressed my face against the glass as I watched in amazement as the jelly fish swam. "Come on juju let's go see the penguins!" We went to the penguin exhibit and Jason was taking pictures on his phone. I laugh at how excited he is to see the penguins and I don't question it. When he stopped taking pictures he came over beside me and held his phone in front of us to get a picture. He kissed my cheek and I smiled at the camera until he snapped the picture. "I want to remember this day." He said. "Thanks for taking me here Jase, I'm having such a good time." "No problem. As long as your happy, I'm happy." I, again, blushed and tried to hide my face so he wouldn't see. "Juju don't do that. Don't hide your beautiful face from me." He put his hand under my chin and lifted my face up so he can see. I leaned in and captured his lips into a sweet kiss. I never get tired of kissing him. His lips are so soft. Jason put his hands on the back of my neck to deepen the kiss, but sadly I pulled away. "Why'd you pull away?" He asked. "I don't want anyone watching." It seemed like Jason just remembered that we were in public and nodded in agreement. "Your right, I'm sorry." "Hey turn that frown upside down Jase!" I said in a funny voice and he started laughing.

We went into the gift shop and Jason thought if would be cute to get me a jelly fish stuffed animal. It was purple so I'm not complaining because it's my favorite color. "Juju I'm definitely getting this!" He screamed and half of the people that was in the gift shop stared at him like he had 3 heads. Now I know that sometimes he can be a little obnoxious and loud. My face got all red from embarrassment from people watching and I don't like the attention and also because Jason was hugging a stuffed animal penguin. I would be lying if I said that he didn't look so adorable right now. "Jase stop being so loud and annoying. People are staring." I whispered-yelled and he looked around, noticing I was right. "Oh sorry." He pouted. "I was thinking of getting a stuffed animal for you to give Abby. Since I know you two get along." He said and I shook my head. "No I don't want you paying for anything. You know I feel bad when you pay for my things." "Well you have no choice because I'm buying this." He held up the penguin and smirked at me. It looked like I had no choice whatsoever so I just agreed. Once we've paid for the stuffed animals, we went into the car to go home. The sun is starting to set and I yawned. We were out all day so I'm pretty tired. "Close your eyes juju, your tired so just sleep." He didn't have to tell me twice because my eyes instantly shut and I was out like a light.

I woke up when I heard my name being called. "Justin! Justin wake up!" The voice I recognized to be Jason shook my shoulders to wake me up. I groaned in annoyance, not wanting to get up. "Don't make me dump water on you." He warned and my eyes shot open. "That's what I thought, now come on we're at my house and your still in the car." I looked around and realized that I was still in the car and we were outside his house. "Why are we at your house?" "Well I thought you were too tired to go to your house so I brought you to my house. I hope that's okay." "No it's fine." I got out of the car and we quietly made our way in the house. It was like 8 pm and the house was quiet so I knew everyone was sleeping. I held the jelly fish and penguin stuffed animals in each hand while walking up the stair with Jason to his room. Just as we were about to go in his room, Abby came walking towards us. "Justin!!" She screamed and Jason quickly covered her mouth so she didn't wake up their parents. "Would you shut your mouth Abby." Jason hissed at her and she looked like she was going to cry. I kneeled down by her and gave her a hug. She hugged me back. "Hey I have a surprise for you." I said and she got a smile on her face. "What is it?! What is it?!" I held out the stuffed animal and she squealed in excitement. "Thank you Justin!" She gave me one last hug and ran to her room, probably to put it with her huge collection of stuffed animals. Jason grabbed my hand and we went into his room. He got sweat pants and a t shirt. I recognized them to be mine. "Why do you have my clothes?" I questioned. "You let me borrow them and I guess I forgot to give them back." I nodded and went to the bathroom to get changed. Once I was ready, I saw Jason already on his bed half asleep. He noticed me standing there and patted the spot next to him. I climbed in and he put his arm around my waist, bringing me closer to him. I felt so warm in his arms. That night I went to bed with a smile on my face
