A true mate is different than a mate. Alannah had created true mates for the gods and goddesses. They are different from a mate because a mate has its own life-force. Which means that regular mates could die at different times. Such as if two humans were mates one of the humans could die way before the other one sometimes dying before the two ever meet. However a true mate took the life-force of the longest lasting mate. This means that if a god had a true mate that was a human then the human would live until the god died. Usually a god or goddess only has one true mate but for Alannah she was a specail case. Also when a god or goddess finds thier true mate and accepts them at thiet mate all other names on thier body will disappear from thier skin only leaving thier true mates name on their skin.
