After bidding Ginny fairwell for the day and her wishing me luck, giving a sarcastic glance towards my company for the next few hours, Hermione, Ron, Harry and I made our way to Charms class. Hermione strode ahead, me hot on her heels, as the boys trailed slightly behind laughing about Ron's bollocking at breakfast.

I spun round to face them, trying my best to keep my pace, going backwards now.

"At least you're not the only one without the homework, Ron," I reassured lightly.

"Yeah only cause you just got here," he replied with a slight smirk.

"Whereas, Ronald, has known about it for long enough," Hermione called from ahead, not breaking her stride.

The boys and I exchanged an amused look before I turned to face Hermione again, quickening my pace to catch up with her as she rounded a corner. Hermione was noticeably shorter than me but her little legs moved at an alarming speed compared the rest of ours, however I suspect the boys could easily outstride her if they had any desire to.

As I turned the same corner Hermione had just disappeared round, I collided with a yellow tie sitting askew a broad chest.

"Sorry," I said stumbling back a bit to regain my balance.

A large, warm, hand grabbed just behind my elbow, steadying me, before a low chuckle escaped from the body in front of me. I looked up to see an amused expression plastered across a handsomely chiselled face, topped with mousy brown hair that skimmed a set of dark bushy brows.

"My fault," he said, politely grinning down at me, releasing his grip.

"No, no," I shook my head. "I was trying to keep up with my friend, I wasn't watching and-"

"I understand," he chuckled. "Granger isn't easy to keep up with on a good day."

This earned a laugh from not only me but Harry and Ron, who had now caught up.

"Alright Cedric," the boys asked, coasting past the two of us towards Hermione. He nodded in response before turning his attention back down to me.

"Cedric," I said, looking up at him.

"Cedric Diggory," he stated. "And you, Clumsy, must be new."

"What makes you say that," I questioned, arching a brow at him.

"I think I would've noticed a pretty thing like you walking around before now," he replied coolly, making my cheeks flush a violent red.

"First day, or else I would've bumped into you sooner," I joked, trying to bring the intensity of the interaction down a little. He let out a breathy laugh, leaning on the wall next to him, never breaking eye contact.

"Amelia," called Hermione, gesturing me over, as a small man stood in the now open doorway across from me, ushering people inside.

"That's my cue," I said, side stepping Cedric's large frame as his head followed my movements.

"Pleasure bumping into you, Amelia," he called after me as he watched me slip into the classroom, flashing him a quick smile, before he backed his way round the corner with a grin.

I was barely two steps into the room before a voice enthusiastically called my name. I met the man's gaze with a polite smile approaching him and introducing myself.

"I'm Professor Flitwick," he told me with a jokey bow, moustache wiggling as he spoke.

"Nice to meet you," I replied with a small giggle.
