Chapter 2

*Cierra's POV*

The lunch bell rang. I packed my bag and began walking out of the door.

I met up with Layla and Ashley by the big oak tree and we walked to lunch together. Layla is neither tall nor short, with brown eyes and hair. She had that don't f with me attitude. Ashley was the nice one. The one who resolved all of our problems. She was pretty tall with light brown hair and green eyes. They were my best friends.

Usually, the popular girls and their group bullied us unless they were too busy fixing their hair. Their 'leaders' were Mayah and Anna. We all used to be friends until they became more popular than us. Today, they hadn't done anything to us. But I still had a bad feeling. We sat down at our table and a huge group began to form around us. Layla, Ashley and I exchanged looks of terror because groups never formed unless stuff was about to go down.

Mayah and Anna's boyfriends walked out and held Ashley and Layla so that they couldn't move. I was so scared about what was going to happen that I couldn't move. Suddenly, Mayah and Anna walked out. They had innocent looks on their faces, yet I knew they were fake. They came up behind me and smashed pizza on either sides of my face. Layla and Ashely yelped but were slapped in the face for doing so.

I looked at them, then looked at Mayah and Anna. I stared at them and I laughed. Ashley looked confused, but Layla was smirking as if to say "you go girl." I laughed louder and louder until everyone was watching me. I casually stood up and looked at Mayah. I punched her in the face. Anna was too stunned to react, but Mayah's boyfriend let go of Layla and ran over to her. Before he could make it to us, Layla had kicked him in "that place" and he was on the ground whimpering.

Anna charged at me. This time, Layla threw mashed potatoes right in her face. Ashley managed to escape her boyfriends grip and proceeded to punch him in the throat. We looked at each other in surprise. We actually beat them. We hugged and laughed, and when I turned around something connected with my jaw, and everything turned black.

I awoke in the nurses office, with Layla and Ashley next to me. Our parents were outside, talking with the principal. I rose my head but soon regret my decision because a sharp pain shot through my jaw. I groaned and looked at Ashley. She seemed to be fine and so did Layla. I asked what had happened and they told me that Mayah's boy friend knocked me out. They picked me up and ran to the office before he could do anymore damage. I looked at the clock to see it was 12:22 and lunch began at about 12:00. I assumed I had been knocked out for about 5 minutes.

I got up to go to to the bathroom and saw my reflection. I had a giant gash across my cheek and a giant purple bruise on the right side of my face on my jaw. I winced as I touched each cut and bruise. I walked out of the bathroom crying because it had never gone this far. I was scared about what they were going to do next. Ashley came over and tried comforting me but it only made it worse. By the time my parents noticed, I was bawling. They came running over to comfort me, but my mom accidentally hit me in the face with her arm, which made me yelp in pain. This whole thing was a disaster.
