Adrien had an amazing time in New York, but like all things it had to come to an end. He made his way towards his mansion, his house. He was surprised to see his father waiting for him on the stairs.
Adrien groaned inwardly. What insolent act had he done to injure his father's display of a fake perfect façade this time? Adrien stood, a bored expression of his which matched his father. He knew not to show any emotion.
"Adrien."
"Greetings Father, what human imperfection have I possibly displayed for you to be summoned?"
"We need to talk. My office, now."
Adrien sighed. He must've done something real bad if it meant that he was being called to the office. His shoes clicked on the floor as he made his way towards the door. He noticed his father's fists weren't clenched, so perhaps, maybe, it could be a longshot but MAYBE he did something, possibly, to make his father proud. However, Adrien still didn't smile.
He went into the office. It was still bland, organized and screamed torture to the eyes. There was a pattern of black and white butterflies on the walls, a white table and black PC. It didn't seem like a fashion icon would use such a place, when their job was all about being creative...and this place...well it was like a office job where the person hated what they did. A small smile made it's way to his face as his thoughts wandered back to the bright room of Marinette, full of creativity and bursting emotion, not this void of death.
However, that smile disappeared as sudden as it had appeared when he saw his father smile. No, not the genuine kind, the 'successful-business-deal-just-happened-and-you're-a-part-of-it' and Adrien felt his heart slightly dip. He was used to the emotion of disappointment. His father motioned to the seat as Adrien sat stiffly.
"Adrien, after you graduate, you will be marrying Kagami Tsurugi."
Adrien blinked, "You're kidding, right?"
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, as his words hit Adrien square in the heart as multiple emotions passed through, "What?! I don't even know Kagami! Why!?"
"You and her were fencing partners if you remember Adrien."
"For 5 months! That too years ago!"
"5 months was plenty, besides Miss Tsurugi will be funding millions into the company. Do not talk to me about love, take it as a business Adrien. Relations build on this."
Adrien felt exasperated, unable to stop himself before he blurted out, "Even you and mom!?"
Immediately, he knew he had unleashed hell as his father gritted his teeth, before all his expressions relaxed and Adrien felt he was about to face things much worst. His heart was beating fast as his father began speaking, "It seems public school has made you quite rebellious. You will train yourself to be more obedient, and from now on, you are not allowed outside. Your room is big enough for you, no public school, Nathalie will tutor you. You will continue your modelling. Your phone will be monitored, no contacts other than me and Nathalie. No friends Adrien."
Adrien felt as if all air had been sucked out of lungs, no! He couldn't do this! Everything passed through his head. No longer will he see the eccentric classmates, or Nino, or have Chloe troubling him. But what stayed in his mind was, Marinette. She would have nobody to talk to, but with her personality she would find someone eventually, but him...He needed her. He was so shocked, he didn't get to fire back as his 'father' stepped out, "It's time you understand the world of business Adrien."
Hatred spilled in his chest as Adrien stomped to his room, locking his door and jumping onto his bed, screaming onto his pillow. He didn't want this! Everything was already bad enough! He wanted friends and teachers and people around him who treated him normally like a human. He reached for his phone, and his heart dropped. It was completely rebooted. His gallery, empty, all photos gone. His wallpaper the Gabriel logo. His contacts only Gabriel and Nathalie. His notes with Marinette's number, gone. His chats with Nino, gone. All gone.
