The bookstore was not very busy. It was pretty quiet actually. Only one person was shopping. Charlotte leaned on the counter as she waited for the older woman to pick out a book. Timothée never understand why Charlotte worked where she did. She was a very talented actress at LaGuardia, but she got quite tired of it. She only kept it up for Timothée, because he loved it so much, and they were best friends after all. She loved to read more than anything. That's why when her favorite bookstore in Manhattan said that they were hiring, she immediately took the job. They had new books, vintage books, old biographies about people nobody talked about anymore, tons of local authors, a whole section of books that movies were based off of; this is what she loved.
"I think I'm going to get this one," the older woman said as she approached the counter.
Charlotte smiled and took the book to check the price on it, "Ah, All The Presidents Men," she said, "I love this book."
"I remember the events of it so intricately," the older woman responded, "I had just gotten my first job here in the city when that scandal began to unfold. But I realized I've never read the book!" She laughed.
Charlotte laughed with her, "Well if you ever get the chance, the movie about it was also very good."
"Oh, I plan on watching it when I finish this," the woman winked and took her book off of the counter.
Charlotte grinned and gave her her receipt, "Have a nice day," she said as the woman left.
