enemies au.

"But there's a side, to you,
that I never knew, never knew,
All the things you'd say
that were never true, never true"
- Set Fire To The Rain, Adele

Yes another song-based one because I love writing these hehe <3

She searched the crowd for him, praying he hadn't gotten to what he wanted yet. To what she was supposed to protect.

It was hard to tell Chat Noir apart from everyone else in the crowd, especially with the majority of the males that he hid with also wearing black, just like him.

Ladybug waved through the crowd, her red dress flowing with the wind as she went. She had her sword concealed under her skirt, saving her from accidentally injuring or even killing innocent people.

Music started playing much to her luck, and she was stuck dancing with all these unknown people. If she was a lucky enough, all this dance partner switching would end her up face-to-face with the criminal mastermind she was after. She was Ladybug, the symbol of luck afterall, it could happen.

"Excuse me," an all too familiar voice was heard behind her, and before she knew it, she was hand in hand dancing with the enemy; Chat Noir.

"Fast one aren't you?" he remarked, raising his eyebrows in amusement.

Well, she couldn't really see if he had raised them or not, his mask covered his face, only leaving his eyes visible to her, along with his nose and mouth of course.

"You won't get the crown," she spat coldly, ignoring his statement earlier.

He chuckled lowly, shaking his head. "Let's not jump to conclusions just yet, Madamoiselle, don't assume you're going to win this time."

It was her turn to laugh.

"What makes you think you would be the one to triumph, when it has been me all this time? I don't think things would change," she told him confidently, a smug smile etched upon her face.

He now directly looked into her eyes, which he had never done before; he had always lowered his gaze around her. She could truly see how bright his eyes were; his electric green eyes.

"I have my ways."

The second it was time to switch partners once more, he smirked at her tilting his head slightly.

"See you later M'lady," he farewelled, and they were no longer dancing with each other.

Her eyes lingered on her enemy, who was getting closer to his target; the prince of Achu's crown. His royal highness was currently talking to the guards by the hall entrance, no where near the prized possession.

Without warning, the same doors the prince stood at were blown open by some type of explosive, sending the two guards and the prince flying backwards. Gasps rang around the room as Ladybug realised what was happening; the whole gang was here. Chat's whole group.

It was her biggest fear come true. It had always been only him, and whenever they battled, he would sometimes warn her that one day, he would have everyone on his team at one place, out-numbering her by a ton.
