they're around 20-22 in this with full-time jobs and their own houses. Another thing, here they know they both have feelings for each other but haven't really justified what they are.

He didn't show up for the akuma attack, and this worried Ladybug.

If Chat had ever gotten hit by an akuma, or too caught up with his civilian job he'd end up there by the end of it all, but not this time, he didn't show up at all.

Ladybug tried to call him one more time, but it went to his voicemail once more. She sighed. Something was wrong with him, he would never stand her up during an akuma attack. Worried, she swung back to her home before she detransformed in public.

Adrien lay down in bed feeling completely awful. He couldn't get up or open his eyes properly and his head was pounding; he had caught a really bad fever. The guilt he felt for not showing up during an akuma attack was one of the worst, but he couldn't even stand up, how was he supposed to fight a villain?

"Plagg," he croaked around eight, the kwami zipping right to his aid.

"Yes? What do ya need, kid?" He sniffled. "Claws out."

He had absolutely no idea what the heck he was doing. Chat just wobbled out onto his balcony and leaped over to the Arc De Triomphe, where they were supposed to meet for patrol.

He was suprised to see that Ladybug wasn't there, but then again, he did completely skip an akuma, the possibility of him coming to patrol was logically slim. The blonde landed onto the building with a weak thump as he proceeded to call his partner.

Marinette was at dinner with her friend group when she had gotten the call; she had made it so that if Chat called her or messaged her as Ladybug, she'd still receive them as a civilian. She glanced at her phone, standing up. "I'm so sorry guys but I really have to take this," she said, standing up and leaving the table. She entered the living room and picked up.

"Hello? Chat?"

Chat was more than relieved when she picked up.

"Hi M'lady," he greeted, his voice hoarse. Marinette widened her eyes at the response.

"Woah are you okay? Are you sick? What are you doing out?" He chuckled, sniffling.

"Yeah, pretty much having a sick day today. I'm out at the Arc De Triomphe waiting for you. I'm sorry I didn't show up--" he apologised, coughing before continuing, "I'll explain everything."

Marinette attempted to process his words, getting worried as she did.

"Who's been taking care of you this whole time? Did you go see a doctor?"

She frowned when he said no to both of them.

"Okay you know what, wait there, I'm on my way right now," she told Chat, walking back out and hanging up.

"Wait but you don't--" he had started, right when the line went dead.

Welp.

"Guys I'm so sorry, I really need to go an emergency came up," she said to her seven friends who were sat down at the table, slinging her back over her shoulder, the cold chain of her bag making her wince the second it made contact with her bare shoulders.
