Chapter 3 - Dear Person Returns

I woke up after a weird dream, which been a creepy one. I was dreaming about Veronica, we both were having fun, near the beach. Then Veronica smiled and said "Come, find me" after she said that, a crawler lunged at me, biting me in the head. After i woke up, i was in fear, of those words. "Come, find me"...what did it mean? I check my phone, which somehow had some energy left, it showed, 2:15 am. I remember, if you wake up at 2:00 am to 2:30 am, it means someone is watching you. Come, find me. What did it mean? I looked around, nothing was staring at me. I looked around the island, only to find Veronica. She was all blue. I was solified. What the hell? What...is she? Is she a ghost? Or a hallucination? She stood up, turn around and smiled seeing me here, standing in place, stoned. "So, i knew you would look for me..." she said with a giggle.
"What do you want from me?!"
"What do i want from you? Hihi, oh, Kris, i just wanted to see you!"
"Really? Then why can't i move?"
"Well i just want...ask you something."
"What do you need?"
"I want you to... Bury my body... Then i will leave you."
"Bury your body, hm? Easy!"
"Oh, thank you, Kris!"

After she disappered, i felt weak, it may be because she kept me solified for 3 minutes. I got back to my "group", layed down and looked at them.

I guess it's time to tell you my friends apperence and traits.
Arthur is a guy, you can trust to. He is short, and fat. But he is quite strong. He will help you in any situation. He has brown hair, he's mostly wearing jacket, t-shirt and jeans.
Rainer is the guy, who is a stupid, but funny. He is a weak guy, who doesn't even know how to fight. He won't help you a lot, because he is a wimp. He has blonde hair, wearing a something like sweater and t-shirt combined, jeans.
Karline is a girl, who has a bad side, you won't want to see. She is a good girl, but she can't do much useful. She can save you only when she is feeling brave. She has brown hair, wearing a vest, long sleeve t-shirt, pants.
I am a guy, of survival. I can help if it would be a suicidal mission, or an easy task. I am tall, but a bit fat. I have brown hair, and wearing a jacket with hoodie,t-shirt, baseball cap, jeans.

Tommorow, i told everyone of this, strange thing which happend last night. They though i was crazy, but still accepted that i needed to bury Veronica's body.
We sailed, with Karline swimming behind us, it was quite funny seeing her, trying to catch up with us, as we sailed faster than her swimming. As we got on the good old earth, i wished the earth was a living girl just so, i can kiss her. Yea, i know. Weird. We quickly sprinted to school as it wasn't that far away. We watched as crawlers eated the rotten bodies of peoples. I was shocked, that bodies rot this quick. I hope once i die, those bastards won't eat me.

Once we reached the school, we were even more in shocked, than fast rotting bodies. The school has been fortified, and so, becoming a base for everyone, who stayed alive. On front door, they decided to build a wooden spike barricades, which had multiple crawlers struck by spikes, but still alive. Windows were barricaded, but still had middle board pulled out, to peek if crawlers were coming, as i understood. I saw somebody, waving at us, and shouting to come in. I decided we shouldn't stop for break, plus, the crawlers blocked our only way in, but others really wanted to check out how is it going in there. So we went inside, killing strucked crawlers. Our teacher was happy to see us alive, but we were shocked, to see, our teacher, who teaches us about wood,metal,electricity and how to build, chained up against the wall, as he turned into crawler. "What the hell?! Why is he chained up?! Why is he a crawler?!" We all shouted in horror. "Well, he helped us to build these barricades, but he was bitten. He turned, but we chained him up, hoping that he will recover."
"Will recover?! There is no way he will turn back!"
Just after i said, teacler (Crawler with teacher combined) broke out of his chains and lunged at our teacher. We all jumped back, and ran away. We ran into the forest, again. I remember that last time, crawlers were almost everywhere, but now, they're gone. Maybe they went away because of the noises, or... We reached the placed where Veronica, was "cured" from virus. We all almost threw up our breakfast, as we all saw Veronica splattered head. I know,you are now thinking, i already saw it,why am i now throwing up? Well, that day, i din't ate anything much. And i was too sad when i saw her dying. Her body somehow was still fresh. No crawler eated her body, and someone left a shovel near her body. Somebody wanted to bury her. I told everyone, i will dig, and that they need to keep a lookout for crawlers. I dug her grave for twenty minutes, then i putted her body in grave. "Sorry, this maybe was my fault...now you're dead..." I sobbed as i buried her grave. After i was done, i standed there, sobbing, only feeling coldness, freezing my poor heart. Then, i felt weak patting on my shoulder, it was Arthur. Like a good friend, he knew what i felt, and so he tried to cheer me up.
"Don't worry, Kris! I know what you feel. Just try to froget it, okay?"
"I don't know, Arthur...Can you give me a minute? I'll try to froget this madness"
As i asked, Arthur nodded and went away. I sat down near Veronica's grave, and started crying. It was hard to remember her death, and it was hard to try and froget it. Suddenly, Veronica appered near me, smiling.

"Thank you, Kris. Now i can go to heaven"
"Well, hehe... No problem! Have fun, up there!"
"Hihi...Don't worry, Kris. You will meet someone, who you care more than me!"
As she said that, she kissed me on cheek, waved her hand and disappered. I knew my face was red now. But i din't understood, how did i felt the kiss? ... Who i care more than Veronica...Did she meant?... No, that's inpossible! She can't be meaning my... Suddenly, my phone rang. I checked it. "Answer the phone, Kris"
Yes, she meant my dad. He was in prison. I don't know if he has escaped the prison when this madness began, because he calling me now. I answered the call.
"Kris? Is that you?"
"Yea, it's me, dad"
"Oh god, Kris. You must go to Riga! I'm there. You must get to Riga! There is a safe house! We can be safe ther..."

DAMMIT! My phone died... Get to the Riga, hmm? This will be hard, if i'm going without any transportation. Riga is Latvia's capital city. And it is about 100 kilometers away from Jekabpils...there is no chance of us getting there by walking. Unless... I heard a vehicle's engine, roar so loud, as if saying to it's master "Come on, do it! Push the gas paddle! Come on!!!". I quickly ran to my group as they watched a car, waiting for something. Then i saw a hand, waving. I already wanted to sit down and calm down after all of this. Unfortunatly, the engine's noise gave to the crawlers their meal, as they came from all sides. We all began running, pushing crawlers away from us, only to realize that the driver was scared, started to roll away from us, but we managed to catch with him up, and somehow get inside the car. I checked who was a driver...
