The Zombie Survivors

Chapter 4 Part 2 - Nowhere is safe anymore...

I watched how everything in Riga was almost in ruins, building destroyed. Graffiti from other survivors... "Nowhere is safe" One graffiti read... Is it true..? Nowhere is safe anymore? I saw flame... I stared at it... My eyes felt warm just by looking at this...

"Kris, are you okay?" My dad poked my shoulder, making me jump a bit

"Yes, dad, i'm fine..."

"We'll soon be at the safe house, oh and i remembered, check the glove box, there's ammo for your pistol."

I immediately checked the glove box and found two clip sizes, a little smile formed on my face, i took a clip, loaded it in my pistol and grabbed the second one

"Dad... I think... Mom's dead..." I looked away after this, my own mind was shocked after i said

"I know, Kris. I know... "

"Wait, you know she's dead?!"

"Yes, she died two days ago, back when everything started, it was so quick, i swear, i saw her being teared apart by those... Things..."

I started weeping... Trying not to make a noise to make anyone believe i was crying...  I knew Arthur would try to cheer me up... But it wouldn't help, my mother, died, and no one could help her...

"Well, here we are, the safe house..." After my dad saw me crying, he looked back at the road, seeing the safe house, when we all looked, we all smiled, i never though i would be happy at something... Safe house,  It was a church, windows boarded tight, metal covered walls, which few people were still covering some parts of the wall(Now i'm wondering where they got so much metal, oh wait, i saw my mom's train logo on one of the parts of the wall... Don't tell me they somehow rip the damn train and grabbed everything), a sniper on the top of the building, near the bell, and few guards with a shotgun, a pistol and a rifle, been patrolling, they looked scared...

I was a bit scared to go in, i didn't want to trust anyone except my friends... Only way i could enter the church was with my handgun in my hand.. 

After i entered, i knew everybody was looking at me, like "Why does he has a gun out, there's nothing dangerous here!", but i looked back at them, with an angered look, making them look away. But, i spotted a girl, she was looking at me, with widen eyes, after i took a little inspection while i was walking, she looked like that girl in my dream! But, maybe... It was a confidence! Right?

"Kris! Come here!" Arthur shouted my name, which made the girl stand up, and walk to me, but i quickly spotted that and ran to my group

"Why the heck did you needed to shout out my name, moron!?" I looked at Arthur angrily, and wanted to punch him, but i knew that would be stupid, then i spotted something...

"Hey, Arthur, i got two questions... Where's my dad? And did you spotted that Rainer and Karline been talking together lot more?" 

Arthur looked at Rainer and Karline, they been talking to each other, and giggling like little schoolgirls, Then he looked back at me "Well, your dad is talking with the leader of this safe house, and i didn't really spotted that they talked to each other a lot more!"

We both laughing, covering our mouths, and started to make kissing sounds and laugh even more "Dude, this is how will it end!" I said that before bursting in laughter, i turned around, and saw that girl still looking at me, she was smiling and waved at me, i turned around.

"Dude, what's this girl's problems? When she saw me, she had her eyes widen, and when you shouted out my name, she seems to wanted to talk to me..." He looked at the girl, then back at me "I don't know, dude, just keep an eye on her, maybe she'll come and kill you at the night" Arthur started laughing after saying that, i just wanted to break his jaw with a well placed punch
