Chapter 1

Highway 1, Kanto Region

Ash and Goh are driving home after Goh completed his most recent Project Mew mission, where Goh collected the golden scales of a Shiny Volcarona, which finally allowed him to join the project. Ash frankly doesn't care much for the project. If anything, his instincts told him any organization that tries to catch a specific Legendary or Mythical Pokemon instantly draws up some red flags. But who's he to ruin the joy and excitement of his friend? Of course, Goh on the other hand is on cloud nine. Catching Mew has been a dream of his, and this mission just got him much closer to meeting that fabled Mythical Pokemon again. Of course, this meant that Goh won't shut up about it.

"I still can't believe it! That was awesome! There was this Pokemon hunter who we battled, then we encountered the shiny blah blah blah blah."

Ash sighed. While he's happy for his friend's accomplishment, the fact that Goh's been ranting nonstop about this for the last 2 hours of the drive made Ash wish he bought some noise cancelling headphones before driving back to Vermillion. Suddenly, Goh grabbed Ash's shoulder, while flashing his phone which displayed the Project Mew token.

"And now I'm finally in this-"

"WOAH!" Ash screamed and swerved the car, narrowly missing a fence post. He pushed Goh's phone away. "Don't do that man! Can't you see I'm driving? God..."

Goh sat back in his chair and pouted. "Can't you just let me have my moments?"

"You've been having your moment for the last 2 hours! So can you be so kind to just be quiet and let me drive?"

"Hmph." Goh finally became quiet. Or not, as ten seconds later he immediately resumed babbling. "Man, I haven't felt this amazing since I caught Suicune. Well, okay, Chloe wanting to be my girlfriend was better, but still, this is still up there! And I heard they do so much stuff with legendaries, I mean we encountered that Regice and Moltres. Oh! Oh! Maybe we can see one of the legendary beasts again! I want to catch one of them, maybe they can be a friend for Suicune! And then the legendary birds, then the Regis, and then-"

Ash slammed his hand on the dashboard, yelling "Goh, shut the FUCK UP!!!"

Goh looked at Ash with an offended look. "Chill out man! Don't be a party pooper here! I know your jealous that I have a legendary and you don't-"

"Thats not true."

"-and I've been accepted into this incredible project by completing a task on the same level as one you could not-"

"Goh, stop it." Ash was gritting his teeth.

"-look, you're just jealous of my recent success! I bet you still feel bad about losing to Bea! She crushed you that first time! Her Pokemon are so much stronger!"

"..." Ash is silent.

"And for someone that's a champion I wonder why you brought a pokemon you recently caught like Riolu and Farfetched. You think you'll reach Leon by using newbie Pokemon?"

Ash is fuming right now, his face slowly going red, and his grip tightening on the steering wheel. "I said stop."

"Like seriously! You won't be going against Bea again with weak and pathetic Pokemon again aren't you? You will just be beaten and humiliated again!" Goh immediately regretted saying that.

Ash's eye twitched and his pupils narrowed, and a vein popped on his head. He slammed his foot on the brakes, bringing the car to a screeching halt. "Get out."

"Ash I'm sorry-"

"Out now. Before I get even more mad." Ash pointed at the door, and Goh can see that Ash gripped the steering wheel so hard that it left the impression of his hand in it. Goh stepped out the car. "What, what are you doing?"
