"Are you coming down!?" (Y/n) whisper shouts, standing outside her best friend's bedroom window.

Luckily for Yaoyorozu her room was on the ground floor. She still takes her time making her way out of the window. Despite how many times she's done this motion. She lands gracefully onto the ground and looks at her best friend, she was proud of herself.

(Y/n) mutters "took you long enough..." before walking off of the property. The girls carefully make their way out, checking back every once in awhile to see if any lights had come on. Yaoyorozu left her desk lamp on in her room, to make it seems like she was studying. Though her parents are fast asleep. They wake up with the sun and sleep as soon as they can. Way before midnight.

"Two hours before midnight." Yaoyorozu says as they are finally approaching the downtown area. "And tomorrow is a school night..."

"Relax," (Y/n) looks over at her instead of paying attention to what is ahead. "You said you wanted to hang out. You know I cannot say no to my bestie." She grins.

She frowns for a second but notices her friends concerned look, she waves her off. "I'll tell you about it later. Let's just have fun."

Respecting her wishing, (Y/n) makes a mental note to ask her about it on the way back. They always choose to sneak out on a school night, meaning school also takes place the next day. This way there would be less students out and about. Less people to see them sneaking out.

(Y/n)'s parents don't mind her hanging out with friends on school nights if she's back at a reasonable hour. Yaoyorozu's parents, however, refuse to let her out past the sun. Only on weekends is she allowed to be out but she has to be back before they go to sleep. A little bit overprotective is how her friends describe them.

The first time they snuck out was innocent. A movie was playing at the theater in town and it was within walking distance. Only problem was, it was on a school night. And the showing was two hours before midnight, ending right before midnight came. So of course there's no way they could go. Instead of asking for permission, and begging their parents to let them, (Y/n) came up with an idea.

"I've been climbing out of my bedroom window since we got here. And your room is on the ground floor..." She says, still working out the finer details of her plan.

Yaoyorozu listens as she continues to figure out her plan, telling every detail out loud. They were walking home from school, the movie would be showing that night. "As long as we don't tell our parents, we should be able to sneak out."

"And what if they catch us?"

"Eh." She replies with a shrug, "we apologize and never do it again. Worse thing they'll do is take our phones but I doubt they would do that. It's the only way they can communicate with us while we're in school."

As she explains the plan in full details, along with back up plans and predicted outcomes, Yaoyorozu is nothing but impressed. When (Y/n) finishes her explanation, she awaited her friends thoughts. Altough Yaoyorozu's only thought was-

"Guess all those video games did something good."

A year has gone by since that time and a lot has happened both of their lives. Good and bad. Through it all they stood by each others side. During this time; both girls started to develop crushes on each other.

Each has pushed said feeling deep down. Yaoyorozu more than (Y/n).

"What do you want to do today?" (Y/n) asks as they stop at a vend machine to grab a drink.

"Anything really." Yaoyorozu answers, "I just wanted to get out."

Making yet another mental note to ask her; "how about the arcade then? It doesn't look like many people are there tonight."

"Yeah but Jirou is working tonight. And Mina is at the theater, Ochaco should be working at the diner..." She lists off.

Even though they are both friends with all those girls, they agreed to keep the sneaking out thing to themselves. They reasoned that it was to make sure their parents didn't find out. "Word spreads fast after all." In reality they wanted to keep this to themselves. A secret both of them shared. Time spent together without having to worry about what others thought. Yet another action that caused the unspoken feelings between them.

The arcade is a place where not many people go. Usually some university students are there when exam season comes around. Since it was never busy they would often go there before talking about a heavy topic. A little distraction, a moment of peace, before the storm rolls in.

A few times Mina has snuck them in and their other friends to see a movie. This only happens when Yaoyorozu's parents are out of town. By the time the movie ends the theater is littered with popcorn everywhere. (Y/n) and Jirou cracking jokes about the awful movie while Yaoyorozu and Ochaco try to see the good parts of it. Though Mina choose the bad ones on purpose.

Someone, mainly Jirou, throws popcorn at Yaoyorozu because she made a good comment about the movie. Earning popcorn being tossed back at her. (Y/n) defends Jirou from the attack and Ochaco joins in. Mina is running supplies. They all helped clean up the room afterwords. If not Mina would never get off work. And in the soldiers defense, the room was empty so it was fine.

Now the diner was always busy. Especially if a major sport happened to play that night. Both before and after the match. On slow nights the girls would get together to see Ochaco outside of school. She was always working some part-time job in the town. That includes smaller jobs like pet sitting. They mostly see her to plan bigger events; in need of a response or an opinion right away. She always enjoys being in everyone's presence.

While there are a few other places, only one sticks out to the girls. The library; a spot that's always peaceful.

"Guess the library is the only option. Which is good since I feel like you need somewhere super quiet, or really loud and full of people." (Y/n) reasoned out loud.

And so they went to the back of the library on the second floor. No workers were currently at their desks on this floor. No one was ever up there, actually. It became the girls spot, sitting on top of the windowsill. Lead against the glass talking and laughing about, memes and new music they had found recently.

Sometimes Yaoyorozu would gush about the new book she had finished reading or tutor (Y/n) in her worst subject. Afterwords they would go see a friend who was at work or head straight home depending on the time.

Tonight, however, was different. Not many words have been spoken since the start of the night. The tension in Yaoyorozu shoulders and facial expression has been clear the moment the street lamps showed it. Still keeping the mood positive, (Y/n) pulled out her phone and ear buds.

"How about some Green Day?" She asks, scrolling threw her mountain of playlists. Both hers and Yaoyorozu's sets.

"Sure." She shrugs not paying attention to her surroundings.

She puts her phone back in her pocket and a hand on her friends shoulder. Leaving the choice to Yaoyorozu if she wanted to open up now or later. "Something must be really bothering you, want to talk about it?"

Before she could say anything, her phone buzzed and a notification popped up. It was from her boyfriend. She groans in annoyance and reads it. (Y/n) looks away out of respect and because she isn't to fond of the him. He's a nice guy and all. Makes good choices and gets along with everyone. She doesn't dislike him per se. More like Yaoyorozu never seemed happy dating him.

She always groans or sighs whenever she gets a text from him. Only around (Y/n) though but she could never figure out why. She didn't smile as much around him either. Even compared to being around people she didn't know very well. Maybe their parents set them up, she reasoned.

"It's him again." She says, "I just... rather not be around him. Don't get me wrong he has not done anything to me or anyone I know. Just..." She trails off and runs her fingers through her straight hair.

Thinking to herself that this must be the reason why Yaoyorozu is so upset, she doesn't think about her next sentence. "If you dislike being around him this much then you should break up with him." (Y/n) reasoned.
