Night

These days it seems like daytime takes a long time to come and for that reason hours on end it's just me, the occasional noise from outside and the deafening silence that I wished swallowed me whole.

Tonight was one of those nights where I had woken up before day had arrived and was forced to stay up until I once again saw the sunrise.

"The pills aren't working.."

I had said unconsciously, a sigh escaping my lips as my tired eyes tried to focus on my ceiling. The sounds of a few cars and an ambulance could be heard in the distance, I had grown accustomed to them as the days went by.

"I wonder who they're bringing to the hospital this time..are they dead? Alive? Or on the thin line between life and death? The correct answer, I'll never know." Thoughts like these often plagued my mind around these times.

The familiar warmth and blinding light of the rising sun slowly started to flood my room. The previous thoughts I had ceased in an instance, burying themselves in the depths of my mind until the next night.
