Chapter 1

The sun begin to rise over the ocean is it uncovered a large island full of green vegetation and hillsides.

Sonic (Narrating): "This is the island where I'm from!"

A blur of electric blue energy zooms all over the island at supersonic speed.

Sonic (Narrating): It had everything! sandy beaches, cascading waterfalls, public access to loopty-loops! And I I don't have to catch the school bus because I can run around the island in less than two seconds!

This blue blur was revealed to be Sonic when he was only 5-years-old. He was running around the island with joy in his large green eyes.

Sonic (Narrating): And there is no school! I know! Pretty sweet island right?

The little hedgehog curls up into a ball and began zooming even more faster.

Sonic (Narrating): I was born with extraordinary powers and I was told to keep them a secret. But like any kid, I did the exact opposite!

Sonic then zooms into a treehouse, where a large owl was resting on her post, until Sonic bumps into her chest, waking her up.

Sonic (Narrating): That's Longclaw. She took care of me. She was basically Obi-Wan Kenobi.....if Obi-Wan Kenobi had a beak and ate mice.

As Sonic uncoiled, revealing a smiling face staring right at her. Longclaw grimaces like she was trying to stop herself from yelling at the hedgehog. She the sighs and shakes her head.

Longclaw: *sigh* Sonic...someone could've seen you!

Young Sonic: No one saw me! I'm too fast! And I wanted you to have this.

Sonic then took out a little sunflower out of his quills and handed it to his mother owl, Who smiles thankfully at him before taking it and placing it in her head feathers.

Both mother and child chuckled, until a snap with heard. Longclaw gasps in terror as she saw several dark figures in the tree behind Sonic, aiming their bows and arrows at him.

Longclaw: GET DOWN!!!!!!

Longclaw grabs Sonic has several arrows shot of the windows and walls nearly hitting the owl and hedgehog. Then several echidna mobians rushed into the house, their bows and nets ready.

Sonic (Narrating): But turns out great power leads to great power-hungry bad guys and I lead them right to us.

Sonic looks around with fear in his eyes as Longclaw glares at the echidnas before putting sonic on her back and burst through the wall of the tree house. As she flew she dodged several flying arrows......all except one which hits her right under the wing.

The owl let out a yelp of pain as she crash landed with Sonic protectingly in her wings. She struggles gets up, blood gushing out of her wound as she sets the young hedgehog down.

Longclaw: Listen carefully Sonic. You have a power I like anything that I ever seen......meaning someone would always want it. The best way to stay safe is to stay hidden.

She then turns to a brown pouch and reaches inside, pulling out a golden ring. She threw it making a portal to a darker environment.

Longclaw: this world is on the far side of the universe, you should be safe there.

Young Sonic: I don't want to go without you!

Longclaw: you must! *Gives him the pouch of rings* these would be your most important possession!

The owl then let's out a small gasp as she saw their enemies coming towards them threateningly.

Longclaw: if you ever discovered, use one.

She nudges her son towards the portal.

Longclaw: Never stop running. NOW GO!!!!

As she said it, Sonic dashed through the portal with his rings clutched into his arms. He glances back to see Longclaw still in the other side of the ring with her wings spread out protecting the ring portal from the ones who are trying to catch him.

Young Sonic: LONGCLAW!!!!!!

He dropped his rings and ran back towards the portal as it begins to close.

Longclaw: goodbye Sonic........

Young Sonic: NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Sonic reached the portal.......only to go through golden sparkles. He stops, realizing that he was too late.

Longclaw was gone.

Young Sonic: No.............NO!!! She can't be.....dead..... I need to help her!

He then pick up the rings and was about to throw one but hesitates.

Young Sonic: but she said that I'm safe here........no! I need to help her! I need to...

As he struggles to make a decision, his little quills begin to glow up as lightning begin to spark out of them, his little green eyes glowed electric blue.

But then, Sonic sank to his knees, still sparking with lightning, tears were flowing down his cheeks as he looks over to his right and sees a feather and the flower that he gave her.

The hedgehog picks up the two items and hugs them and the sack of rings tight.

Then, overwhelmed with tears of grief, he lets out a large scream, causing a lightning bolt in the middle of the forest.
