"oh my god, why do you care so much?"┏━━━━༻❁༺━━━━┓
WHATEVER IT WAS about Harry Potter, Rain Jones hated him through and through--and these feelings were nothing but mutual.
Whether it be the natural hatred between Gryffindors and Slytherins, the snarky comments fired between them on the quidditch pitch, or even just the clash of their competitive personalities, Harry and Rain had never gotten along.
It had been a hate-hate relationship since their first game against each other in their third year, when Slytherin took the win after Rain sent a bludger Harry's way; stopping him from catching the snitch and landing him in the hospital wing for a week straight.
It was a notable moment for just a third-year beater to be so ruthlessly skilled in her aim, which is probably what lit the match to her success on the pitch. This ultimately led to her being appointed the captain of the Slytherin team for her sixth year, much to Hary's distaste as Gryffindor's new captain.
Rain despised change--and anything that was overcomplicated. If everything in life was as it was on the quidditch pitch, fluent and fast-paced with no room for second thoughts, she'd be thriving right about now. At the start of her sixth year, she was uneasy about her new position (though, of course, she never showed this), her rapidly declining long-term relationship (again, she never mentioned this) and her crumbling family life (even her closest friends had no idea).
The one thing, the only thing, that stayed the same in Rain Jones' life was her hate-hate relationship with the Gryffindor quidditch captain.
Until it didn't, that is, and suddenly everything she once knew was falling apart.
