Ten years ago, Isabel Verde almost made a mistake if she had chosen marriage with a guy named Pat, whom she hardly knew, but fell madly in love with in just three days. But common sense knocked her out cold that she chose to see if he was really sincere with his marriage proposal by putting him on a time test. If he still loves her, they were supposed to meet again by the rice paddies a year after they met, on May 12, 2006.  On the fateful day that started with hope, Isabel ended waiting till sunset; not a shadow arrived. Her heartbreak was so deep that she focused all her attention in baking, and locked her heart to any man who tried to open it.

Nine years later, Isa as her friends and family call her, is  head pastry chef and owner of Sweet Frost, a bakery cafe with twelve branches all over the Philippines. This year, she was invited by the Filipino Community in Sydney, Australia to make a baking demo and talk about entrepreneurship.

"Isa, are you ready for tomorrow's event?" asked  Carmen, President of the Filipino Community who married an australian in her twenties.  She's now  50-years old with identical twins grand kids in their toddler years.

"Of course," she answered as she prepared the ingredients  for her demonstation  inside the community's kitchen building. "I'm almost done, and dying for a massage to freshen me up tomorrow."

"I know of a good chiropractor just a few blocks away, I can bring you there.  He's always book, but I'm supposed to have a schedule with him at five today, but I think i'm going to give that slot to you."

"Oh no, please, don't.  I can have a massage in the hotel."

"I can't use the slot anyway, since I still have to prepare for tomorrow's event.  I swear, Isa, he's so good, you will never let him go."

"Are you sure? If he's just a few blocks away, I'm sure i'll find my way. You don't have to bring me there."

"Okay then, but you have to leave now, it's a 30 minute walk." She got Isa's hand, and tried to stop her from organizing the utensils. "I'll take over from here, just say your taking my slot, Carmen Anderson.  I'll text you right now the address. Oh, and by the way, it has been paid for."

"Oh Carmen, how much is it?  I'll give you the money now," Isa said as she scrambled for her bag

"Sweetheart, consider it as a gift.  You have been working hard since you arrived. Now go!"

"Thank you Carmen!" said Isa giving her a hug.
