The Pirate's Princess

Chapter 3 - Voyage

~2 years Later~

Its had been 2 years since they set off from the dock in Avalon, Timber and her crew had sailed the seas, the had fought enemy ships, they had brought riches safely to and fro, they had had many adventures, but at last it was time to come home. Over the years Captain Timber had become a feared name among enemies and a celebrated one among allies, along with her crew Timber had made quite a name for herself, 'the most feared Pirate in all the kingdoms'. On their arrival home, the crew found that there was a parade and music and dancing all to celebrate their homecoming. When they stepped of the ship the towns folk cheered and clapped, screamed and cheered, some even started to sing soon to be accompanied my music and dancing. After years of sea the crew were overjoyed to have a break, to ignore all responsibilities and duties, the towns people shared the same view of the celebrations. Timber followed her crew mates off the ship soon after and was welcomed just the same with shouts and cheers, soon to be sucked into the celebrations of their achievements. The crew partied and danced along with the town till many hours into the night. There where drinks which just added to the joyful atmosphere of the town.

The next morning Timber got a letter from the king himself, asking her to meet with him and his council, she accepted as her curiosity got the better of her, so she left her home that she somehow managed to get to in a drunken state after the party. On her arrival at the palace two knights escorted her to the council room where the king was waiting, Timber felt rather out of place as everyone in the room was wearing fine clothes and dresses whereas she was wearing her leather boots, jacket and her hat, which was given to her by her father so a rather precious possession of Timber's. The king motioned for her to sit down at the opposite end of the table from him, so she was looking directly at him. The queen sat at his side with other council members filling the other 8 seats. "Timber Hark" the king started addressing Timber by her full name.

"Captain, it's Captain Timber Hark, your highness" she spoke calmly, the king looked shocked that someone would correct him.

".... Captain Timber Hark" he tried again, "I have invited you here to propose to you a job, as you know, you have created quite a name for yourself, I would be a fool to ignore your skills...as skeptical as I am of your loyalty, I would like to arrange an agreement. I would like you to help me defend our kingdom from Kavlar the Kingdom that, as we now know is planning an attack against us"

"What would this defense include?" Timber questioned,

"I would like you to collect the Princess of Kavlar" he answered.

The other council members watch in anticipation as Timber pondered this. "You mean kidnap her?" she finally answered,

"Essentially, yes, but it would give us leverage to stop the attack they are planning"

"if it will help this kingdom then I shall do it, but I will not harm her, she deserves no rath that is aimed at her father," Timber agreed

"That is fair" the king replied. "You shall leave tomorrow, ready your crew. I will prepare everything you will need for the journey" the king finished as he stood up.

"Agreed" Timber said as she too stood up and left the room.

She was glad to escape that room, she headed into the town to collect her crew who where scattered everywhere, they must prepare for the journey.
