Sam's Pov

"I know you two are having fun but we really need to go," I press Sally, frowning when her face falls to disappointment. "Okay, okay, riddle me."

"YAY! Okay! First one is, you can only keep it once you give it to somebody," Sally tells me.

"That's an easy one. It's your word," I tell her. "Jeff didn't get that one I assume?"

"Nuh-uh. Next one. You fill a bath tub with water. You have a teaspoon, tablespoon, and quarter cup. What is the fastest way to drain the water?" Sally questions.

"Please tell me you got the second one right Jeff?" I question looking over at Jeff.

"You pull the plug. That one was pretty straightforward," Jeff tells me with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Now can I take my children home?" I ask, looking at Y/N. "I still have to feed them."

"One more daddy! It's our super duper hard one!" Sally explains. "Please?!"

"Fine, fine. Lay it on me," A smile on my face despite sighing out the words.

"Alright Sam. Here is your riddle," Y/N declares with a smile. "What is everything to someone, and nothing to everyone else?"

"Hmm, that's a hard one," I say, trying to wrack my brain for the answer.

"Please answer right Sam," Jeff mumbles from his mega blocks jail cell. "I am getting annoyed."

"Oh! I've got it. Your mind is," I declare with a satisfied smile.

"No fair! Daddy's too smart," Sally grumbles, getting off of her 'throne'.

"Nice one," I tell her with a laugh. "Stumped me for a minute but you're talking to someone who's read just about every book out there."

"You're not even old enough to have read every book out there," Y/N laughs, helping Sally out of her costume. "Let me guess, for Christmas you got a whole book of riddles? Or you collect them for a living? That and books with dad jokes?"

"Sally? You told her?!" I gasp with fake shock. "My secret is ruined!"

"Daddy you're silly," Sally giggles with a shake of her head. "Can I always get baby sat? Ms. L/N played dress up with me and made it fun! I wanna always play dress up with her!"

"Of course you can. As long as she is available," I tell her, the four of us returning to Y/N's classroom after we fix the drama room.

"Of course I'll be available. Unless I end up sick or something. Oh! By the way, what are you doing here Sam?" Y/N asks, handing me Sally's backpack.

"Well, I was concerned when an hour passed and Jeff wasn't home with Sally so I wanted to make sure nothing happened. I see I had no reason to worry other than the fact that you were holding him hostage," I tease her with a chuckle.

"Well I have to follow her highness's orders. What kind of knight would I be if I couldn't protect her highness from any and all harm?" Y/N asks, pretending to be offended.

"She's not a real princess," Jeff complains as he crosses his arms over his chest. "I know you're being nice hut you gotta out your door down.

"Knight Y/N!" Sally gasps out in disbelief.

"Hush peasant," Y/N laughs, tapping Jeff lightly on the head with a ruler. "If she wants to he a princess then she is a princess. Besides, what do YOU even wanna do? What can that imagination cook up?"

"Plenty of smarter things than that," Jeff exclaims with flushed cheeks. "Tch, you have her so I'm going home."

"I was kidding! You don't have to run," Y/N calls after him with a laugh. "She's still growing. Let her have the imagination, okay?"

"Whatever. He's here now so I'm going to go," Jeff mumbles, hurrying out of the classroom.

"Thank you for watching and playing with her," I tell her to distract her from Jeff's sudden absence, scooping Sally into my arms.

"It was my pleasure Sam. She's a lot of fun to be around," Y/N tells me with a gentle smile.

"I love playing dress up with you. No one ever wants to play," Sally explains. "They all say they're too busy or just don't feel like it."

"Well, I hope I help satisfy the need. I'll play dress up whenever you'd like," Y/N tells Sally.

"Thanks again," I tell her.

"Sam, it's really no big deal. I'll see you two Monday," She tells us, watching us off before she turns and heads to her desk to finish gathering her papers.

"I like her Slender," Sally says once we are out of earshot.

"I like her as well. She's a good human," I tell her with a gentle smile.

"Slendy?" Sally asks, using her favorite nickname on me.

She knew it melted my heart every time she used it but she was the only one allowed. Everyone else got a 'glare' or a scolding if they used it. The only other person who tended to use it was my brother Splendor but that was a lost cause at this point. It was him that she learned about the nickname in the first place after all.

"Yes Sals?" I ask her.

"Can she be my new mommy? She seems to like you," Sally explains, a tired yawn leaving her lips as she rests her head on my shoulder.

"Sally, I've already gone over this with you and I know it's hard when you meet nice ones, but the things is Y/N is a human and we're creepypastas. Just because I like her doesn't mean she'll be any more accepting than other humans," I tell her.

"But Slendy," she protests.

"The answer is no Sals," I tell her gently.

"I'll change your mind," She mumbles sleepily, falling asleep on my shoulder.

"I'll give you a week," I whisper, teleporting home with her and Jeff once I catch up to him.

I get Sally tucked into bed and make my way to the kitchen so I can get started on dinner, a soft sigh leaving my lips as I cook various dishes for the pastas. Sally's schedule had gotten a little mixed up now that she was going to school during the day so she usually needed a nap once we got home. I was already used to very little sleep so it didn't affect me much but I tried to make sure she got enough sleep so she wasn't too groggy during the day. She still needed to go out killing, so I had to make sure she was up late enough at night in order to go out killing. Once dinner is ready everyone gets served and then we all head out for the night to do our things. Sally is beyond excited to be doing so when I take her to her old house to do her usual haunting and killing if she feels like it. I hang back and let her do her own things, my mind wandering back to her teacher.

Jeff left like he was unamused but I could tell he had actually enjoyed it. He was included and he got to see what all the fuss was about with Sally. Sally couldn't stop talking about it and the other pastas listened attentively. They were wary at first but this past week they've warmed up to the idea of maybe trying to meet the human that made Sally so happy. I had no doubt they wanted to scout the human out more than anything. Be certain she posed no threat and if she did they were all going to have emergency plans to kill her. I'd get to her first obviously but it was still nice to know that just in case anything happens I have more than enough people to back me up.

Still, she wasn't a bad person and didn't come off that way either, it was more just concern to ensure she wasn't. A week wasn't quite enough to go off if in the first place so we would all need to test things out. Test the waters. I wasn't going to let them show her their true forms but they could certainly 'bump into her' during some of their outings. I wouldn't mind getting impressions of her outside of the classroom and interactions with Sally.
