Oscar Branwen-Ebi is not the most popular kid at school...considering he skipped a couple grades and was the youngest kid in the eleventh grade. Some of the older kids pick on him all the time, especially Mercury. He's always throwing paper balls at him during class, throwing food at him during lunch, and shoving him into random lockers. And sometimes he'll throw Oscar into the school's pool while fully clothed...like he did today.

"Jerk!" Oscar sputtered after he came back up from beneath the surface of the water.

"Have a nice swim, baby nerd!" Mercury chuckled leaving the pool room.

The boy swims to the edge of the pool and climbs out. Dripping wet, Oscar trudges to the pickup area and stands with his cousin, Ruby.

"Aw man, Oscar, did Mercury throw you into the pool again!?" Ruby asked when she saw that he was completely soaked.

"Yeah." Oscar nodded, staring at his feet.

"You really should start standing up for yourself." Ruby told him.

"I can't, Ruby! He's three years older than me and bigger than me. I'm nothing but a tiny weak kid!" Oscar replied.

"You are not weak, Oscar." Ruby argued.

"Clearly you haven't seen me during gym." Oscar scoffed.

Ruby huffs and closes her mouth, deciding that it was pointless to argue. Oscar may be adopted, but he was a lot like his dads. He was fun and kind like his dad, Clover, while also stubborn and self depreciating like his papa, Qrow.

"You and Uncle Qrow seriously need to improve your guys' self esteems." Ruby muttered, pouting.

In response, Oscar just rolls his eyes. Then Yang's car pulls up and the two high school students get into the back seat.

"Hi, Ruby. Hi, Oscar." Blake, Yang's girlfriend, greeted.

"Hello, Blake!" Ruby replied happily.

"Woah, Oscar, what happened to you?" Yang asked him.

"Mercury threw him into the pool again." Ruby answered.

"Yo, cuz, you need me to beat up the little son of a b**ch for ya?" Yang asked, angrily clenching the steering wheel.

"No! I do not need my cousin to fight my battles for me!" Oscar snapped.

The car falls silent as Yang drives away from the high school. Then she makes her way to the primary school to pick up Oscar's little brother, Corvus. While in the pickup line, Ruby gets the six-year-old's booster seat from under the passenger seat and places it beside her. When Corvus gets into the car, Ruby helps him with his seatbelt.

"Hi, Bubby!" Corvus said, waving energetically to his big brother.

"Hi, Cor." Oscar replied, not so energetically.

"Bubby, are you sad? Why are you sad?" Corvus asked concerned.

"I had a bad day." Oscar said, resting his elbow on the windowsill and his chin on his palm.

Corvus digs something out of his bookbag and hands it to Oscar. It was a piece of paper that had the day's assignment on it. At the top of the paper were the words "The Person I Admire Most", and underneath was a drawing of Oscar with the words "my big brother, Oscar" next to his head. And under the drawing was a short paragraph about how smart and kind Oscar is and that he's the bestest big brother in the whole world. This single page of paper completely turned around Oscar's mood and made him smile.

"Awwwwwww! THAT IS SO CUTE!" Ruby shouted smiling.

"Thanks, Cor." Oscar told his little brother.

"You're welcome, Bubby." Corvus beamed, swinging his dangling little feet.
