prologue . 2

after meeting goth back in that quiet room, we had shortly become friends. i had also found out that goth was more of a reserved, quiet person so he never got along with the other kids, instead he reads books in his spare time to fill up that void. he also told me about this thing called 'dark humor', he said it was supposed to make you laugh but it just made me sad because he's just laughing at other people's misery...

but besides that weird stuff, i often come over to his house every week! his parents are very nice to me, mr. reaper and mr. geno always greeted me with a smile and prepared both of us snacks to eat even when i was only staying there for a few minutes or so, they even let me have a sleepover once! (with my mums permission of course) and it was very fun.

this is one of those days i'm coming over to play at goth's house, i walked over to his family's front door and clicked on the doorbell, it made a small ringing sound to notify that a guest was there. i waited for a while until the door opened and i saw.. mr. geno.

"oh, heya kid!" geno greeted me with a smile, as usual.

"hi mr. geno! is goth there?"

"yup, he's currently playing a game on his xbox, you can just go to his room!"

"okay, thank you mr. geno!" i thanked the elder as i went inside and sprinted to goth's bedroom, once i made it to his door, i quickly took notice of the sign in front of it.

'goth's room'

it said with a little chibi picture of goth smiling, on top with a few stars, it made me smile on how cute it was.

i decided to knock on the door first to alert him, then i decided to come in.

"oh, hey y/n!" i was greeted by goth, who waved at me, i decided to wave back and went to sit by him.

"hey, what are you playing?" i decided to ask him, looking at the screen in front of me, it looked like some kind of shooting game..

"i'm playing some call of duty, wanna join?" he asked, handing me another controller and opening up a screen for me to play, i nodded and decided to play the game.

after a while of playing, i got tired and decided to just watch goth play it. he was really good at it, immediately killing the enemies with one strike and defeating a whole team, which amazed me.

"woaah, you're amazing at this game goth!" i complimented him with a big smile on my face.

"oh.. thanks" he said shyly, pulling down his hood a bit, i can tell he's embarrassed by my compliment, which made me feel a bit bad since i was just trying to tell him how impressive he was at gaming, he decided to quietly continue on with the game and i kept watching him.

after a few hours, me and goth got bored of the game and decided to just talk instead, on today's topic we talked about one of the mean kids in our school, noah.

noah was a very cruel kid, he was taller than everyone else so kids cower in fear when they see him, he liked pushing people and beating them up, which is stopped by the teachers, yet he kept being mean anyways! he decided to target goth once but i luckily got noah to back off from him, luckily goth only received a bit of a scratch on his bones, hell would break loose if noah hurt goth more than that...

"you don't have to be so protective of me, just because i'm shy doesn't mean i can't defend myself.." goth sighed.

"but- he almost beated you up like the others!"

"it's fine, don't worry. it was nothing more than a scratch afterall."

"fine.." i said in defeat.

suddenly, we heard goth's front door opening, and i saw my mum and geno standing there.

"mum! why did you come here?" i asked. mum usually comes home really late after work, so why did she come here all of a sudden? is there something wrong?

"hi sweetie, sorry i had to tell you this all of a sudden but.."

"we're moving."

"what!?"

i was shocked. moving? i just met a new friend and now i have to move away to another town!? my smiley face immediately turned into a deep frown, i have to leave goth all alone... i can't play with him anymore...

"sorry sweetie.. but it's for the best, i just got a good job in another city and it's the only way i can support us both." my mother explained to me, i knew it was a good opportunity for us both, but i don't want to leave goth alone!

i thought about all the worst scenarios about moving away from goth, what if he doesn't have anymore friends? what if something bad happened and i didn't know it? what if i'll never see goth in my life ever again?

"no! i don't wanna leave gothy!" i yelled as tears started flowing freely down my face, like a waterfall.

all the three in the room seem to be in shock at my sudden outburst, especially goth since i had called him 'gothy' all of a sudden, after a while of me crying goth decided to come over to me.

"it's okay y/n.. we can meet again in the future." goth said as he tried to comfort me by hugging me and patting my head, i hugged back and cried onto his shoulders as i kept rambling on how i didn't want to leave him.

"i'm sorry sweetheart.. but we have to go now, you'll meet goth for the last time in the car tomorrow." my mother held my hand and took me outside of goth's room, i hesitated at first before giving up and allowed her to walk me out of the room, i was tired from all of the crying i did.

"thank you so much for taking care of her mr. geno, i'm sorry we have to leave so suddenly.." my mother briefly apologized to goth's dad.

"it's fine, mrs. l/n. just stay safe while driving!"

"will do, thanks."

i decided to wave at goth for the last time, he waved back at me, i can tell he was as upset as me, but he was trying to hide it with a smile on his face.

"goodbye goth, i'll miss you.."

"i'll miss you too, y/n."

a/n: in the next chapter, we're going to see as the kiddos have their very last farewells ;) anyways, hope u like it! this book is giving me a lot of motivation as a writer, it feels very relieving seeing these finished chapters as i've been stuck for a while with my writings.. okay that's all, goodbye! also stay hydrated cuz it's very good for your health k 💗 -m
