prologue

"mumma will be going now sweetheart, remember what i told you before, take care of yourself at school alright?"

"okay mommy!"

and with that, my mother drove off to work.

this is my first day of kindergarden. while mum had already told me the basics like making friends, paying attention in class, and respecting the elders, i still felt a bit nervous as i stepped inside the school, hopefully this won't end too badly...

by the time i went inside, my ears were suddenly bombarded with loud noises of kids my age screaming, running, and playing around. it made me feel uncomfortable, after a while the loud noise started to hurt my eardrums so i quickly covered my ears and ran to find a secluded place where it isn't too loud.

after running around for a while with my ears closed off, i found a closed door in which it spiked my curiosity, and being the curious child i was, i decided to open it and... to my surprise i found another kid (well, skele-kid) the same age as me, he stared at me blankly as i got in and closed the door again to prevent anymore loud noises from coming in.

i sighed in relief.

i decided to stare at the kid in front of me, i noticed that he's now reading.. a book of some sorts, what does it say? you can't really read that well but you swore it had the letters "I, L, H" on it, but the cover did look a bit familiar.

"do you need anything?"

i jumped in surprise, the kid must've saw me looking at him... i hope he doesn't think i'm a weirdo because of that-

"uhhh, no! i was just wondering what you were reading.."

"oh! it's called twilight, it's a pretty cool book." he replied, he flipped over the book just so i can see what the contents are, but i remember something about that book.. wait, mom had it too, and when i tried to read it, mum had said i wasn't allowed to read it cause it was for adults!

"my mum told me this book is for adults!" i said, pointing an accusing finger at him, kids aren't supposed to read that stuff! so why is he reading it!?

"yeah, but i still like it so.." he frowned as he looked back at the book in his hands, he didn't seem to take what i said very well, "what are you doing here anyways?" he asked.

"oh i- uhhhh- it was loud outside so i tried to find a place more quieter and i ended up here." i explained to him.

"well, you're the same as me then.. hey, why don't we read books together? there's a bunch of books on that shelf over there!" he said as he pointed to a shelf filled with tons of different colored books, i stared at them in awe. i nodded at him and went over to the shelf to try and find a good book to read.

i decided to pick a teal colored book.. for no other reason other than that the cover of the book has interested me a bit, it's a picture of a cake with flowers around it, although i can't read the title of it... oh well! i decided to walk over to goth and sit next to him.

when i opened the book, instead of finding the pages of words like i expected, i was surprised to find out that it was full of different styles of cakes, one is for a wedding, one is for a birthday, the other one is for a divorce- honestly my mouth watered just looking at the foods, they all look yummy, now i want cake!

"uhh... you know that is a baking book right?"

i looked back at the title of the book, after a long while of trying to spell the words, i found out that it was actually a baking book like what goth said it was.

"umm- haha, yeah! i like baking soo-" i tried to answer, i felt a bit embarrassed that i didn't realize it was a cooking book, i thought it was a collage book of some sorts.

"you can't read well?" he asked me, i hesitated at first before nodding my head.

"that's fine.. we can still just talk casually i guess."

i was suddenly reminded that i hadn't even got the other kids name.

"oh wait that reminded me! i haven't even gotten your name! my bad." i told him, i sat up and pulled my hand out to give him a handshake.

"my name is y/n! what's yours?"

"...my name's goth, nice to meet you."

a/n: hello hello! first chapter is released, i hope this remake will be better than the old one! tho i wrote this at 3 am on a school night and it wasn't proof read so lmk if there's any mistakes! k bye -m
